Rupp, the daughter of Ignatius Paul and Anna Clara (Smydra) Sivinski, was born July 16, 1932, in Ashton, NE. She lived with her family on a farm located near the Wood River in Shelton, NE until age three when they moved to Homer, NE. The family then moved to Rosalie, NE where they endured seven years of drought during the dust bowl years. They later moved to Arthur, IA for three years. After renting farms for years they bought a farm north of Meriden with Mill Creek running through it. Barb graduated from Meriden High Schoool at the age of 16 in 1949.
On January 29, 1951, Barb was united in marriage to Norman Rupp at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cherokee. Shortly after their marriage Norman left to fight in the Korean War. While away at war, Barb welcomed their first newborn to the family, eventually having four children. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Barb worked various jobs but her favorite job was being a homemaker.
Barb was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed fishing, yard work, spending time at their home at West Lake Okoboji, reading, and traveling. Most of all, she loved being around her friends and family.
On November 17, 2011, Barb passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignatius and Anna Sivinski; and her siblings: Joe, Jim, and Adrian Sivinski and Mary Ann Heise.
She is survived by her husband, Norman Rupp of Cherokee, IA; children: Pam Rupp of Cherokee, IA, Greg (Renee) Rupp of Cherokee, IA, Brad (Nancy) Rupp of Plant City, FL, and Lori (Rob) LaFleur of Minneapolis, MN; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Carla (Charlie) Hines of Lincoln, NE; one brother, Jacek Sivinski of Albuquerque, NM; sisters-in-law, Jan (late Jim) Sivinski of Minneapolis, MN, Ava (late Adrian) Sivinski of Omaha, NE, and Collette (late Joe) Sivinski of Cherokee, IA; and many other relatives and friends.

Bonita (Bonnie) Joan Rupp, age 89 of Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Reinert) Hanson was born on February 6, 1935, in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1953.

On August 20, 1953, Bonnie was united in marriage to LeRoy Rupp at Immaculate Conception Church in Cherokee, Iowa. They were blessed with 4 children: Deborah, Roxane, Kurt and Kyle.

Bonnie worked for Cherokee Mental Health Institute in Personnel for 31 years. She loved spending time with her family. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she loved decorating their home. She was a very faithful member of IC Church. She was a past member of Catholic Daughters of America. During LeRoys 40 years as a Deacon, she would go with him and visit the local nursing homes every week.

She was preceded in death by Alfred and Mary Hanson, parents; LeRoy Rupp, husband; Kurt Rupp, son; Michael Halder, son-in-law; Sara Halder, granddaughter; Deloris and George Stevens, sister and brother-in-law; Jack Hanson, brother; Jim Hanson, brother; Irene and Claude Bortscheller, sister-in-law and brother-in law; Marie and Ed Bortscheller, sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Walter and Marge Rupp, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Laura and Tony Frangenberg, sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Eleanor and Bill Dahlem, sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Donald and Bonnie Rupp, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Leo Rupp, brother-in-law; Rudy Sims, brother-in-law; Fred D. Mary was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Parsons, W.V., the daughter of Delbert and Mabel (Kelly) Shoemaker. She graduated from Parsons High School.

She married Floyd G. "Stinky" Davis on Aug. 19, 1944, in Nitro, W.V. Following Floyd's discharge from the U.S. Army, the couple moved to Elk Point, S.D. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Sioux City. For several years, she was employed at Cudahay's. Next, she owned and operated a restaurant in Sioux City for several years. Later, she attended cosmetology school and became a beautician. She worked at Rose Marie's Beauty Salon for a few years, eventually purchasing the business. She continued to own and operate the salon for the next 35 years. Floyd preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1999, in Sioux City.

She married Floyd C. Rupp on March 4, 2003, in Sioux City.

She was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church for more than 50 years. She was an avid ballroom dancer. She also was an excellent cook and a very loving wife.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd; a son and his wife, Floyd C. "Chet" and Linda Davis of Kingsley, Iowa; a stepdaughter and her husband, Charlotte and Chuck Clark of Le Mars, Iowa; two stepsons, Gary Rupp and his wife, Karen of Marcus, Iowa, and Randy Rupp and his fiancee, Becki Swinehart of Parker, Colo; her twin sister, Bertha Friend and her special friend, Ray Sturgis of Roseville, Calif; a brother and his wife, George and Mary Shoemaker of Stephen City, Va; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Heath Davis, Joe Phelan, Mike Vos, Cole Harvey, Justin Clark and Andy Rupp.
