Mrs. Doering had reached the advanced age of 83 years, 5 months and 26 days.

Almte Margaret Von Hagel was born on February 16, 1857, in Ostfriesland, Germany, and came to this county as a young girl. In 1882, she was united in marriage to Albert Doering and they took up farming in Grant township, where they lived for many years before coming to LeMars 26 years ago.

Six children were born to this union. One son died in infancy and one daughter, Mary, (Mrs. Henry Buehre) died 21 years ago. The surviving children are: Mrs. Fred Onken, Grant township; Mrs. Henry Frahm, LeMars; John Doering, Louisville, Ky; and Mrs. Harry Landgraf, of Struble. There are also 22 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the residence and at two o'clock from St. John's Lutheran church with Rev. L. L. Belk officiating. Interment will be in the Grant township cemetery under the direction of Mauer's funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Peter Von Hagel, Ben Von Hagel, John Von Hagel, Albert Von Hagel, Gert Von Hagel, and John Von Hagel.

Mrs. Doering was one of the early residents of this community and was widely known in a large circle of neighbors and friends who will regret to learn of her passing.

The funeral will be held Friday, April 20, at 2 o'clock from St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. J. J. Vollmar officiating. Burial will be made in the Grant township Lutheran cemetery. Beely's have charge of the funeral.

Mr. Doering was born in Friedeburg, Germany, on April 25, 1847, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Doering. He received his education in Friedeburg and a the age of 17 years, came to this country with his parents, where they settled in Dixon, Ill. At Dixon the family took up farming and remained there for four years. The family then moved on to Jones county, Iowa, settling on a farm and in 1873 journeyed to Plymouth county, again settling on a farm.

On August 25, 1882, he was united in marriage to Marguerite von Hagel, and to this union six children were born. Two children preceded their father in death, who were Mrs. Henry Buehre and John Doering. Those who survive with his devoted wife are: Mrs. Fred B. Onken of Craig; John Doering of Louisville, Kentucky; Mrs. Henry Frahm, LeMars and Mrs. Harry Landgraf of Hawarden. Nineteen grandchildren also mourn his loss, besides many friends. He also leaves a brother, Oltman Doering, living northwest of LeMars.

Mr. and Mrs. Doering retired from the farm 13 years ago and moved to LeMars, where they have made their home ever since.

Deceased was a good member of St. John's Lutheran church and was widely known throughout this community. His many friends and admirers join with his loving wife and children in mourning the passing of a great pioneer, who braved the hardships of building this community from rolling prairie to big cities and rich farm lands.

She was born Oct. 11, 1884, in Grant Township, Plymouth county, the daughter of the late Albert and Margaretha (VonHagel) Doering. She was a lifelong Plymouth county resident and had retired to LeMars in 1944 with her husband, who died in 1962. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Feb. 22, 1955.

Her marriage to Fred Onken took place in Grant township on Feb. 22, 1905.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran church, Grant township, with Robert Reitz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Mauer funeral home.

A prayer service held at 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home chapel.

Survivors are a daughter, Hannah Onken, LeMars; a brother, John Doering, LeMars and a sister, Mrs. Engel Landgraf, Huntington Beach, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Buehre and Mrs. Meta Frahm.

A week ago Saturday she was brought to the hospital to undergo an operation for gallstones and appendicitis. On Friday her condition took a turn for the worse and she sank rapidly, death ensuing on Saturday night.

Mrs. Buehre had lived all her life in Plymouth county. Her maiden name was Mary Doering and she was born in Grant township on May 2, 1883. She grew up on the farm, attending the country schools and helping in the work on the farm.

She was united in marriage with H. O. Buehre on March 25, 1908. To their union four children were born who are Edna, Harry, Vernon and Lillian, ranging in age from eleven years to a year and a half. Besides the bereaved husband and children she leaves to mourn her death her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Doering, of this city, three sisters, Mrs. Tina Onken, Mrs. Angeline Longraff and Mrs. Mabel Frahm, of this vicinity, and a brother, John Doering, of Akron, O.

The funeral will be held today leaving the home of Henry Buehre, 913 Howard street, at 12 o'clock for Johnson township, where services will be held at the Johnson Lutheran church, Rev. T. Meyer officiating and the interment made in the cemetery at that place.

Mrs. Buehre was a devoted wife and mother, and an ideal homemaker, and her life was an influence for good in the community in which she lived her life. She was highly esteemed by a large number of friends who extend sympathy and condolence to the bereaved husband and children.
