Peter, the son of Raymond and Eileen (Gullickson) Scheel, was born March 8, 1961, in Madison. As a young boy he moved with his family to the town of Cleveland, Jackson County. Peter entered the U.S. Army and served his country from 1980 until his honorable discharge in 1995. He returned to the Osseo area and purchased a hobby farm where he enjoyed his animals, his garden and the wildlife that surrounded him. Peter married Cynthia Sue Lahner on June 4, 2006, at his farm in Osseo. Peter was commander of Craig S. Olson VFW Post 8514 in Osseo, volunteered with Special Olympics and was a member of Osseo Rod and Gun Club and Whitetail Deer Management. Peter is survived by his wife, Cindy; his daughter, who was the light of his life, Autum; three stepdaughters, Amanda L. Lahner, Ashlee S. Lahner and Amber L. Lahner, all of Osseo; three grandchildren, Rome Rauter, Trysten Beribeau and Addison Lahner; one brother, Richard (Sandy) Scheel of Madison; one sister, Rae (Joe) Pettis of Osseo; two nephews, Justin and Josh Pettis of Osseo; birth mother, Karen (Don) Zick of North Freedom; birth father, Harlan (Ursula) Young of Verona; three half brothers, Rolland (Cori) Zick, Robert (Beth Ann) Zick and Randy Zick; one half sister, Roxann (Dan) Small; several half nieces and nephews. Peter had many friends because he was a true friend himself. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2006, at United Church of Christ in Osseo, with the Rev. Shari Randolph officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Osseo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Schiefelbein Funeral Home, Osseo, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

He preceded her in death in September 1970. Margaret was a lifelong member of St.
James Lutheran Church. Survivors include two children, Karen (Donald) Zick of North Freedom and Keith (Sharon) Roder of Waukesha; six grandchildren, Roland (Cori) Zick, Roxanne (Dan) Small, Robert (Beth Ann) Zick, Randall Zick, and Craig and Melissa Roder; a granddaughter-in-law, Cindy Scheel; nine great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marion Vitense of Milwaukee; a nephew, Alan (Joan) Vitense of West Allis; and two great nephews, Carl and Christopher Vitense. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded
in death by a grandson, Peter Scheel; two sisters, Lorraine Liebetrau and Edna Vitense;
and two brothers, Edgar and Carl Vitense. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, with Pastor Bradley Pearson officiating. Burial will be in the farst Lutheran Cemetery in Middleton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Hooverson Funeral Home Sauk City.
