Death | 18 January 2020 | Dolores Rose Rupp died on 18 January 2020 at Portland, Multnomah, Oregon, at age 80 On January 18, 2020 Dolores Sensabaugh, beloved mother, grandmother, wife and friend passed away at Emanuel Legacy Hospital in Portland at the age of 80 after suffering three major strokes. She was born in Cherokee, Iowa in 1939 to Cletus and Vera Rupp. The family moved to Gresham, Oregon when she was 3 years old. She was the daughter of farmers who owned berry farms in the area. Dolores grew up helping on the family farm. As the child of a farmer she did what ever needed to be done. Whether pulling weeds in the fields, moving steel pipes, milking cows, plucking chickens for the family meal, she did it all. She attended Ascension Grade School as well as St. Mary’s and Gresham HS.
In 1957 Dolores married George Robert Jones. Together they had 4 children, Robert and Brian Jones, Charlita Walker and Angela Bridges. She had one grandchild, AJ Farrester.
She was married to Thomas Sensabaugh for 39 years. They had one child, Nicole Sensabaugh.
In her life she wore many hats. She was a homemaker, worked at Airways Rent A Car, and was an activity director at St Jude’s Nursing Home in Sandy, Oregon. She and her husband started Specialty Wheels, which was a muscle car wheel manufacturing company, first located at their home in Sandy. After the business became successful it was moved to the Portland area into a larger building. They were acquaintances with many in the muscle car industry.
Dolores loved to volunteer. Whether in schools, nursing homes, helping the homeless, in soup kitchens, at her church, St. Michaels in Sandy at the yearly car show and Bingo games, helping serve meals there and many other serving opportunities. She worked without complaint and in love.
She loved to do many things. At the top of her list were travel, collecting antiques and, as she put it, collecting new friends, whom she loved greatly.
She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all. |
