She departed this life at 2:10 p.m., Monday, May 27, 2013, at the Cass Regional Medical Center surrounded with love and family. At a young age she and her family moved to Strasburg where they made their home; she graduated from Strasburg High in 1928. As a young lady she loved basketball, baseball, tennis, horses, and dancing.
On April 11, 1931, Verna was united in marriage to Virgil Walker in Pleasant Hill and to this union two children, Charles and Doreen, were born; he preceded her in death in October 5, 1975. On November 27, 1981, she was united in marriage to R.C. Noah in Cheyenne, Wyoming; he preceded her in death in on February 4, 1992. Verna had worked for Prewitt Manufacturing, Pratt & Whitney during WWII, the Pleasant Hill Garment Factory; later retiring as an electronics assembler from Bendix in 1975. Verna had a strong work ethic to which she attributed her long life to. She also lived life to its fullest, enjoying each and every day. She was spunky and full of life always ready for the next adventure. She loved playing cards and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church for over 70 years where she had been active in several areas especially the CWF. She was a former member of the Rebekah's and the Bit & Spur Club.
Verna was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Cary and Clyde Cary; and three sisters, Pearl Fitzgeral, Dora Lee Cull, and Blanche Bierent. She is survived by one son Charles Walker and his wife Linda of Pleasant Hill; one daughter Doreen Weber of Pleasant Hill; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the Stanley-Dickey funeral home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner of the First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are Gerald Bagby, Danny Knox, Jack Parris, Bruce Sloan, Danny Vaughn, and Gene Walker. Honorary casket bearers are Shorty Hamilton, Arlin Vaughn, and Bernie Vaughn. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church Building and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Sandra moved to Schenectady in marriage to Rev. Donald Stake in 1960 and spent the rest of her life in this area. She was an active member at Union Presbyterian church for 26 years, and also worked many jobs after being a stay at home mom through her children’s elementary school years. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Schenectady School District in the early 70’s, as well as at Willig & Gallet Realty. From there she worked at Union College in the Office of Alumni Giving from 1982-1988, several years supporting the RPI Chemistry Department, and then Albany Academy, before her final years of employment at the Ayco Company in Latham before retiring in 2006.

He continued as foreman of that department when The News-Democrat and Evening Sun were consolidated in 1929. Mr. Reeves was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Chief Paduke Post of the American Legion, of the Brookport Masonic lodge, and a member of the Immanuel Baptist church. He is survived by his wife; two brothers, Rev. R. A. Reeves, Loda, Ill., and Iradell Reeves, 1237 South Seventh, Paducah; and three sisters, Mrs. Chloe Brown, Beaumont, Tex, Mrs. Anna Mae Starks, Payette, Idaho, and Mrs. Alice Ellison, Chicago, Ill. A son, Dennis Eugene, died in 1936. Rev. Alt Spence Will officiate. Burial will be in Kenton cemetery. The active pallbearers will be Ernest Russell, Iradell Williams, Halsie Robnett, Harold Detie, Harold Smith and Carson Bagwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Roth, C. C.
