Death2 JanuaryAugust Renk died on 2 January On Saturday morning, Jan. 2nd at 8:30 o’clock, the Angel of Death once more summoned a devoted husband, loving father and friend of everyone– August Renk, who died after an illness of only two days. On the morning of Dec. 31st while going out to do his chores he fell on the ice, seeming to be unhurt, but became unconscious a short time after, and remained in that condition until the end.

He was a school director and township trustee for a number of years, and was a true and faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Church for a number of years, and was treasurer of the church at the time of his death. He was a home lover, most satisfied to be with his loved ones, a successful farmer; and will be greatly missed by his family, neighbors and friends.

Surviving are his sorely bereft wife, one son Alven, two daughters, Olga and Amanda, all at home, and three brothers, William, Henry and Herman, all of this vicinity; one brother, Fred, preceded him in death some years ago.
