Georgene Elizabeth Guthrie was born May 27, 1930 at Milford to George and Bernadine (Schemmel) Wintz.

Born as the fourth of 11 children, Georgene lived her entire life in Milford except for a few years in Glenwood, Minn. She worked at the egg plant in Spirit Lake, H.E. Jacobs and the Milford Cafe in Milford before being united in marriage to Milton Guthrie on March 13, 1948. Together they farmed for 61 years and raised seven children.

Along with her farming career and raising her family, Georgene was also an active 40- year member of the Milford American Legion Auxiliary, Rosary Altar Society of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Iowa Great Lakes Saddle Club, Pony Express Riders of Iowa and was a ten-gallon blood donor for the American Red Cross.

Survivors include her husband, Milton; children: Deb Travis and her husband Mike; Rex Guthrie, Julie Goering and her husband Mark; Connie Gossman and her husband Tony; Karen Ackerman and her husband, Dennis; Jim Guthrie and his wife, Shannon; Ray Guthrie and Theresa Schierholt; 20 grandchildren including: Josh Travis and his wife Dawn, Billi Feller and her husband Keith, Sherri Barnett, Tammy Fredericksen and her husband Travis, Jim Bockman, Holly, Jenny and Joel Guthrie, Nathan May, Amanda Genzlinger and her husband Adam, Brian, Michal and James Gossman, Damian Ackerman, Calli Putnam and her husband Ryan, Kayla Ackerman, AmberLee, Nick and Samantha Guthrie and Tyler Guthrie; sisters: Carol Kaufman, Mary Alice Miller, Shirley Derflinger, Bernie Heavener, Violet Hafer and one brother Roy Wintz and his wife JoLean; brother-in-law, Lincoln Guthrie; two sisters-in-law, Marcelle Franker and Florence Mize, plus many other relatives and friends. Georgene also has 15 great-grandchildren and she loved them all equally.

Preceding her in death were her parents; three infant children; a grandson, Blake Schierholt; three sisters, Donna Belle (Roman) Nece; Evelyn Mae Anderson; Joyce (Paul) Anderson and one brother, Bob (Barb) Wintz, plus several other relatives.

Turner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor grew up and lived in the St. Helena area until she and her husband moved to a farm two and one half miles northeast of Fordyce in 1942. They moved into Hartington in 1977. She has been a resident of Beverly Healthcare since 1998. She loved to garden, play cards and be with her family. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington; the Christian Mothers; and the Catholic Daughters of America. Survivors include eight children and their spouses, Maurice and Carol Ann Becker, Utica, S.D; Leon and Marleen Becker, David City; Roger Becker, Waterville, Minn; Janice and Lloyd Sudbeck, Bow Valley; Clinton and Diane Becker, Fordyce; Neil and Paula Becker, Omaha; Jane Becker, Oklahoma City, Okla; Michael and Carla Becker, Hartington; 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister and her husband, Gertrude and Randel Braddy, Kingsley, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Lynette Becker; three grandchildren, Dale, Michelle and Kathy Becker; one great-granddaughter, Corrine Promes; four brothers, Leander, Gilbert, Reinold and Jerome Lammers; and two sisters, Veronica Burbach and Madeline Deaneau.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Leander, Reinold, Jerome and Gilbert Lammers; one sister, Madeline Deneau; one son-in-law, Clovis Weinandt; one grandson, Matthew Burbach; one granddaughter, Lynn Huinker; and five infant grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, March 4, 2005, from 3:30-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., all at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington.

Pallbearers are Don Suing, Tony Ruggeroli, Tim Beldin, Nick Hochstein, Kirk Hochstein, Neal Hochstein.

Alice was born on March 9, 1936, in St. James to Florenz and Veronica (Lammers) Burbach. She grew up in the St. James area and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1954. She married Clovis L. Weinandt on October 24, 1956 in St. James, Nebraska. She and Clovis farmed two miles north of St. James. In the fall of 1990 they moved to Hartington where she worked in the Holy Trinity School Cafeteria for several years. Clovis died on March 26, 1996, at the age of 65. Alice had been a resident of Majestic Bluffs and Sr. James Care Center since January 2003.

Alice was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Perpetual Adoration in Hartington, Catholic Daughters of America, Christian Mothers, and the Blue Ribbon Committee. She was a former member of St. Philip & James Catholic Church and its Altar Society in St. James, NE, Cedar Catholic School Board. She loved crafts, sewing and handy work. She was an excellent cook and homemaker, a big supporter of Cedar Catholic sports and activities. She loved to golf and spend time with her family.

She is survived by six children and spouses; Kathy and Don Suing, Yankton, SD; Lynette and Tony Ruggeroli, Las Vegas, NV; Matt and Jolene Weinandt, Wynot, NE; Carol and Tim Beldin, Valley Springs, SD; Tim and Mandie Weinandt, McCook Lake, SD; David and Christina Weinandt, Eden Prairie, MN; 19 grandchildren; 5 Brothers and spouses: James and Patty Burbach, Parkston, SD; Gary and Ceil Burbach, Cedar Rapids, IA; Kenny and Mary Burbach, Cedar Rapids, IA; Allen and Pam Burbach, St. Charles, MO; Francis and Colleen Burbach, Lexington, West Virginia; two sisters and husbands, Elaine and Don Hochstein, Hartington, NE; Phyllis and Bill Huinker, Postville, IA; three sisters-in-law: Hilda Bradley, Yankton, SD; Loretta and husband Jim Wiss, Lom Pac, CA; Christine Weinandt, Fox Lake, WI; one brother-in-law, Leo and wife Marie Weinandt, Yankton, SD.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one infant son Gary Weinandt.
