Weihert, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Watertown Regional Medical Center, early Tuesday morning, Aug. 7, 2012, after many years of struggle with heart disease. Helen Ann was born in Baraboo, Sept. 6, 1930, to Henry and Edna (Boettcher) Zeman. Helen was the second child born of 16 children blessed by Henry and Edna. In October 1949, Helen was united in marriage to Robert Henry Seils of Baraboo. Robert died May 2, 1979. From that union, three children were born, June, Sharon and Lorann. On April 29, 1966, Helen was united in marriage to Melvin W. Weihert of Watertown. Melvin was a dairy farmer in Watertown for many years. When Mel retired and sold the farm, they built a home on the Flambeau Flowage and moved to Mercer. Helen and Mel enjoyed 30 years of fishing, sunsets, shopping and spending time with family and friends. In August 2008, Helen and Mel moved back to Watertown to be closer to family. Helen worked at Watertown Memorial Hospital for 13 years in the dietary kitchen. Helen was a Women’s Moose Lodge member for 45 years. Helen enjoyed quilting and sewing. She was known for making beautiful quilts for her family and friends. Helen was also a proficient sewer and got a lot of joy out of making clothes for her children during their earlier years. Helen was just a darn good sewer as her family would say. She is survived by her husband, Melvin; daughters, June (Richard) Hoefler of Watertown, Sharon (Dennis) Schlieckau of Reedsburg and Lorann (Steve) Schmidlkofer of Vancouver, Wash; stepchildren, Barbara (Jerry) Peirick of Gilbert, Ariz. and Michael (Susan) Weihert of Watertown; her grandchildren, Aaron (Mary) Hoefler, Robert (Heather) Hoefler, Brienna Cordonier, Katie and Molly Schmidlkofer; her great-grandchildren, Cody, Kyle, Joseph, Mercedes, Krystine, Anthony and Alyx; brothers and sisters, Leonard (Dorothy) Zeman, Marvin (Shirley) Zeman, Vivian Schultz, Carol (Herman) Marlow, Harvey (Deloris) Zeman, Dorothy (William) Ball, Morris (Carla) Zeman, Ronald (Judith) Zeman, Phyllis (Michael) Czys, Mary (Terry) Schultz, David (Pam) Zeman, Debra (Lionel) Dack, Rochelle Sylvester and Jeffrey Zeman. Helen was further preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Vernon Zeman. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 120 Kuckkan Lane, in Watertown with Pastor Douglas M. Cooksey officiating. Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 at the Hafemeister Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church. The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge of arrangements.

Melvin Weihert was born in Watertown on November 3, 1916, son of George and Laura (Lehman) Weihert. In 1949 he married Virginia Higgins in Watertown and together they had two children, Barb and Mike.
Melvin then married the former Helen Zeman Seils in 1966. She preceded him in death in August of 2012.
Mel was a graduate of Watertown High School and was a dairy farmer until his retirement. He then built his home in Mercer, WI on the Flambeau Flowage, where he lived until 2008. Melvin claimed to be an expert on knowing where the fishing hotspots were on the flowage.
Melvin was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and a lifelong member of the Watertown Moose Lodge #830. He bowled for many years, enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and playing cards.
Survivors include his children, Barbara (Jerry) Peirick of Gilbert, AZ; Michael (Sue) Weihert of Watertown; three stepdaughters, June (Richard) Hoefler of Watertown; Sharon (Dennis) Schlieckau of Reedsburg; Lorann (Steve) Schmidlkofer of Vancouver, WA; five grandchildren, Bridgett (Donald) Greenberg, Jay (Charlotte) Peirick; Nickolas Weihert, Patrick Weihert, Andrew Weihert; five step-grandchildren, Aaron (Mary) Hoefler, Robert (Heather) Hoefler, Brienna Cordonier, Katie and Molly Schmidlkofer; eleven great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to the staff at UW Watertown Hospital, The Golden Living Center, and Aseracare Hospice for their care given these last few months.
Melvin was the last member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Anita Toepel.
