David was married to Jane (Gruber) Litscher on December 22, 1962. He was a proud farmer for his entire life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lenard Litscher.

He is survived by his wife, Jane (Gruber) Litscher; sisters, Marion Ericksen and Doris Litscher-Gasser; sons, Bryan (Carol) Litscher, Rich (Jill) Litscher, Nathan (Rebecca) Litscher; daughter, Suzanne; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and lifelong friends.

David’s family extends sincere gratitude to the staff at Sauk Prairie Healthcare; particularly Dr.Sarah Niles and nurses Melissa and Cathy. He found peace and pride knowing he was to die on the property that was formerly his farm.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 17, 2017 at First United Church of Christ, Sauk City, WI with Pastor Bill Kapp officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie du Sac Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the church.

Popp. On April 9, 1922 he renewed his baptismal vows personally in the rite of Confirmation becoming a communicant member of St. John's Lutheran church of Rock Springs and had served it faithfully ever since. On July 23, 1932, he was united in marriage to Hazel Hintz. This union was blessed with one daughter, Karin. Mr. Meyer was engaged in the business of trucking for many years, owning and operating his own trucking firm. Though he had not been in the best of health, his death came very unexpectedly. Surviving are his wife Hazel, a daughter, Karin; and a brother, Kenneth of Muncie, Ind. Funeral services for Mr. Meyer were held Tuesday, March 11, at St. John's Lutheran church of Rock Springs, Pastor R. A. Siegler officiating. Hymns were sung by the church choir. Pallbearers were Harry Haskins, Carl Behnke, Marion Pfaff, Russell Pfaff, Ed Klitzke and Lloyd Frese. He was laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery at North Freedom.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Raymond, Alfred, John and Sylvester Ruhland; and four sisters: Bernadine Heimbecker, Amelia Pauls, Elizabeth Ruhland and Rose Ruhland. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:10 A.M. on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Sauk County Health Care Center Chapel in Reedsburg with Father David Carrano officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday at the Health Care Center. In lieu of any plants or flowers, please consider a memorial to the family. She attended St. Luke’s Grade School and graduated from St. Luke’s High School in May of 1952. Elsie and Cletus J. Haas were married by Fr. Clement Haines at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on November 10, 1956. Elsie was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church and the Plain American Legion Auxiliary. After graduation, she was a secretary in Madison and at Badger Ordnance. She was employed by the Village of Plain for forty years as Director of the Plain Library. She volunteered for many years as host of the Friday Coffee Group at the library. Elsie enjoyed reading, local history, flower gardening, crafts, puzzles, and spending time with friends playing cards and on trips to Branson, Nashville and Germany. Clete and Elsie spent many summer vacations with relatives on fishing trips to Canada. Survivors include, 6 Godchildren, nieces, nephews, 3 brothers-in-law, Ralph (Maxine) Haas, Ken (Gerry) Haas and Richard Haas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Christina Ruhland, her husband, Cletus Haas on August 23, 1993, 4 brothers, Sylvester, Harold, Francis and LaVerne, twin infant sisters, Margaret and Katherine Ruhland, 3 sisters, Carolyn Reiner, Lucille Reiner and Bernice Tollefson, 6 brothers-in-law, Wilbert and Edmund Reiner, Louis Haas, Tilmer Tollefson, Ernest Burmeister and LaVerne Haas, 6 sisters-in-law, Irma Ruhland, Lucille Haas, Luella Haas, Rose Ruhland, Rita Ruhland and Lorraine Burmeister, 6 nephews, Richard Tollefson, Charles Reiner, Dennis Haas, Ronald, Tom and Dennis Ruhland, 3 nieces, Paula Ruhland, Mary Lou Haas, Sharron Ruhland, and a great-nephew, Jerimiah Johnson.
