Laura Hargrove Harris died on 15 April 1982 at Wisconsin at age 87 Laura "Harkie" Cook, 87, of Richland Center, died Thursday (April 15, 1982) at the Pine Valley Manor. The former Laura Harris was born in Richland County June 23, 1894, the daughter of Samuel and Euphemia Doudna Harris. She married Melver (Vern) Cook March 7, 1911 and he preceded her in death Aug. 20, 1967. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Dorothy Mudica, Jenette Burton and Eleanor Cook; one son, Arthur Cook; and a half brother, Oat Harris.
Mrs. Cook is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Faith Hallett of rural Richland Center; one son, Buren Cook, rural Richland Center; 24 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 18 great great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held April 17 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leon C. De Garmo officiating. Burial was in the Richland Center Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Assembly of God Church.
