| Death | 25 September 2024 | Roxanne Bailey died on 25 September 2024 at age 67 Roxanne “Rocky” Moore, age 67, of Bethany, OK, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024. Born on November 6, 1956, in Edmond, OK, to Elgin Reed Bailey and Verle Elizabeth Bailey, Rocky lived a life filled with love, compassion, and resilience.
A graduate of John Marshall High School, Rocky met her soulmate, Ron Moore, and they were joyfully married on July 8, 1977. Known for her tender spirit and unique perspective on life, Rocky approached the world with childlike wonder and innocence. Her caring nature shone brightly through her many acts of service, including her dedicated support of St. Jude’s Children’s Foundation and the ASPCA.
Rocky had a lifelong love for animals, often visiting the zoo with her family. For 25 years, she cherished her horses and operated A Breed Apart Carriage Company, offering enchanting horse-drawn carriage rides. Professionally, she served as an office manager at Delhi Gas Pipeline Company for a decade. Following this she spent 20 years as a transcriptionist for Feed the Children, and also worked in closed caption transcription for TV production.
Rocky enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, whether it was visiting with neighbors, sharing lunch with coworkers, or celebrating birthdays with family. A true movie buff, she loved dining out and was passionate about gardening, often transforming her flower beds with her creative touch. She cherished her younger years spent camping and visiting her grandfather’s farm in Iowa where she would spend time with her beloved cousins, Nancy and Mike Larson, Joel and Sharon Grauer, as well as Tim and Jude Grauer.
Throughout her life, Rocky faced numerous challenges, including her courageous battle with breast cancer in 2005 and stage 4 lung cancer in 2017. Despite these hardships, her unwavering faith and strength in the Lord always shone through, inspiring all who knew her.
Rocky is preceded in death by her parents, Elgin and Verle Bailey; her brother, Roderick Kent Bailey; and her beloved daughter, Lucille Elizabeth Moore.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ron Moore; daughters Brandi Michelle Moore and Katie Ann Timm, along with her husband Kristopher; grandchildren Caleb Reed Moore and Lucy Eleanor Timm; sister Rita Shuck; her beloved dog Gerdi; and many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 2 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. |
