Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Kendall grew up and attended school in Tuttle graduating from Tuttle High School in 1966. He then attended Bismarck Junior College. He returned to the family farm near Tuttle, North Dakota.

Kendall enjoyed working outside and helping at the Hurdsfield Café. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Goodrich.

Kendall is survived by his mother, Eileen White of rural Tuttle, ND; brother and sister-in-law, Dallas and Deb White of Goodrich; nephew, Eric White and his special friend Brandy; niece, Samantha White; great-nephew, Kenyatta White.

He was blessed with exceptional intelligence, physical strength and stamina (despite his small stature), a cheerful disposition, and boundless energy, enthusiasm, and perseverance, which he applied fully to every task his undertook.

Virgil was a physician, scholar, researcher, teacher, soldier, mentor, adventurer, naturalist, gardener, musician, conversationalist, and world traveler. Above all, he was loving, generous, and kind. He was endlessly devoted to his family, and adored his wife of 63 years, Nadya.

After being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, he participated eagerly in every research study possible. Even as his mental abilities weakened, his sweet disposition remained, and he was cheerful, kind, and loving until the end.

Virgil is survived by his beloved wife, Nadya, dear sister, Grace, children and their spouses William and Yunhua, Barbara and Dennis, Pamela and Timothy, grandchildren Ivan, Misha, Nicholas, Emily, Reva an AK, nieces and nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.

He passed with confidence that he will be reunited in heaven with his parents, dear sister Gladys, and beloved daughter, Sabrina. He will be dearly remembered.

Services: A Celebration of Life will be held at Meramec Bluffs Senior Community, 1 Meramec Bluffs Dr., Ballwin, MO on Saturday, March 5 at 9:30 a.m. Burial service with military honors will be at Highland, IL City Cemetery on Monday, March 7 at 10:30 a.m.
