She was born July 19, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio to Robert F. and Elaine B. (Jackson) Lockhart. Karen earned her undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University and then went on to earn her masters in Speech Language Pathology from Miami University. She married the love of her life, Jeff Huntley on November 17, 1990 and they shared 31 years together.

Karen was a speech language pathologist employed by the Lucas County Educational Service Center and a devout member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Perrysburg. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing tennis, traveling, and gardening. Karen was an avid volunteer participating in hippotherapy and a longtime member of P.E.O chapter AY where she helped young women obtain financial assistance for college education. Above all, she was a fantastic mother and wife and will be remembered for her outgoing personality and love for her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff; children, Madelaine Huntley and Samuel Huntley; father, Robert Lockhart; siblings, Diane (Mike) Ballard and Keith (Melinda) Lockhart. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Lockhart.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Visitation will continue Friday, December 10, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 13101 Five Point Road, Perrysburg, Ohio where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.

Marian married Earl Mylrea on Nov. 12, 1949, in Loganville. She was an active member of many clubs and organizations including Evelyn Circle, Couples Club and XYZ at Bethel Lutheran Church, WELCA Ascension Lutheran Church in Florida, Friendship Force of Wisconsin, Waunona Way Garden Club, Olbrich Gardens, Women in Construction, Madison, Wives of Monona Grove Businessmen, Den mother and Girl Scout leader, Manx Society of Wisconsin.

Marian enjoyed family get-togethers, especially Christmas Day and Mother's Day. She also shared a love for Badgers and Packers football, Badgers hockey, snowmobiling in northern Wisconsin and Governor Dodge State Park, traveling (especially trips to Alaska and with the Friendship Force), cruises, fishing, reading on a rainy afternoon, sewing, crafting, embroidery, gardening, having dinner parties with family and friends, and parties in general.

Marian dearly loved her husband and best friend, Earl. Her children and their spouses were all very loved and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a joy. Everyone brought such happiness into her life and each one has been unique.

Marian is survived by her husband, Earl; sons, Steve (Lesley) and David (Trudy); daughters, Sharon and MariLyn (David) LeFeber, and Barbara Maxwell; grandchildren, Darren (Heather) Mylrea, Gavin (Viktoryia) Mylrea, Amanda (Pete) Jacobson, Samuel (Adrianne) Mylrea, Melinda (Matt) Freeland, and Elizabeth LeFeber and special friend Ryan Bowser, Jonathan (Serena) LeFeber; great-grandchildren, Jack, Alex, and Henry Jacobson, Julius and Theo Mylrea, August and Adeline Freeland and Remington LeFeber; stepsister, Marlene (Rev. Carl) Peters, and extended family; many nieces and nephews; and dear cousins.

Marian was preceded in death by her father, Carl Jr; mother, Emma; stepmothers, Elizabeth and Lucille; daughter-in-law, Therese Curran; in-laws, Walter Mylrea, Richard Mylrea, Lois Ruetten, Joyce Mortensen; stepsister, Mary Ann Aaroen; stepbrother, Vern Aaroen.

Funeral services will be held at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 312 Wisconsin Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. There will be a luncheon with sharing to follow.
