Life EventDateDescription
Birth29 October 1918Lorene Clara Fuchs was born on 29 October 1918 at Wisconsin.
She was the daughter of Herman Fuchs and Kate Fischer.
Marriage20 December 1937Lorene Clara Fuchs married Ervin Sprecher, son of Arthur Roy Sprecher and Ethel Strait, on 20 December 1937.
Death16 July 2015Lorene Clara Fuchs died on 16 July 2015 at age 96 Lorene Clara Sprecher, age 96, was reunited with her beloved in Heaven on July 16, 2015. She was born at home in the Town of Troy on Oct. 29, 1918, to Herman and Kate (Fischer) Fuchs. Lorene lived a quiet life on the farm until the age of 7. When she was 7, she went from being an only child to being one of five children when her cousins came to live with her family. Although a huge change, she accepted and loved her new "siblings". Such unconditional love was a trait she displayed throughout her life.

While attending school, at the tender age of 11, Lorene met her beloved, Ervin Sprecher. They shared their first kiss on the school steps when she was 13, married when she was 19, and went on to share a remarkable love and life together for the next 69 years. Lorene lived 94 of her 96 years on the same farm where she was born. She and Erv moved in with her parents, where they lived and farmed together. She was proud in all their years together that "never a harsh or angry word was spoken".

Lorene's greatest joy and love was her family. When she was 41, she thought she was suffering from a touch of the flu. Nine months later she was blessed with her only child, a son who was the light of her life. Many years later she was once again blessed by the addition of a daughter-in-law and finally, at age 81, her first grandchild was born. Two more grandchildren followed. They were her pride and joy.

Lorene was the ultimate homemaker. She spent her life caring for her home, family and the many, many visitors who were regularly at the farm. The kitchen table was always full.

Lorene enjoyed spending time with family and friends, baking/cooking, Saturday night dances, her farm cats, and trips to Ho-Chunk where more often than not she returned a winner. She had a love and knack for playing cards, maintaining involvement in several card clubs her entire adult life. Lorene spent countless hours contributing to the farm effort, whether it be driving the tractor or lawn mower, preparing expansive meals for workers, or doing whatever was needed, always without question or hesitation. Known for her positive determination, Lorene rarely failed to succeed in accomplishing pursuits she felt were in the best interest of others or the farm she loved so dearly. She maintained a strong affiliation with the church throughout her life, with her faith always at the forefront of her personality, manner, and way of life.

Lorene is survived by her son, Scott (Crystal) of Cross Plains; three grandchildren, Brock, Rachel and Lucas; a special friend, Jim Keck; one sister, Lucile (Diehl) Coenen of Sauk City; one brother, Roger Diehl of Sauk City; two sisters-in-law, Lorna (Sprecher) Anderson of Sauk City, and Florence Sprecher of Spring Green; and two brothers-in-law, Walter (Buelah) Sprecher of Prairie du Sac, and Milton Sprecher of Spring Green. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Erv; two brothers, Albert (Margaret) Diehl and John (Shirley) Diehl; four sisters-in-law, Margaret Diehl, Lorene (Bob) Erickson, Arline Pace, and Shirley Sprecher; and five brothers-in-law, Sylvester "Doc" Coenen, Harlan Sprecher, Orville (Molly) Sprecher, Marvin "Brownie" (Fern) Sprecher, and Wayne Anderson.

Special thanks and gratitude to Home Health United in Reedsburg and HHU Hospice in Madison for the expert and loving care you provided. Additionally, a huge thank you to Lisa Hasheider who shared her skills, love and compassion when it was needed most.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at FIRST UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, Sauk City, with Pastor Bill Kapp officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015, at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Sauk City, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at the Harrisburg Cemetery, Troy Township.

She was the daughter of Arthur Roy Sprecher and Ethel Strait.
Death9 February 2011Arline LaDell Sprecher died on 9 February 2011 at age 91 In Loving Memory of ARLINE LADELL PACE The life light mercifully winked out for Arline Ladell Pace on February 9, 2011 as Alzheimer's disease finally took her. She was born on a windy prairie farm in Southern Wisconsin on January 20, 1920, the eldest daughter, the fifth of ten children. She was a child shaped by the Great Depression, a time when the eldest daughter in a large family swiftly became a Mother figure to her younger siblings. At twenty Arline followed her dream of a future in California. She left the prairie of Lone Rock Wisconsin for Pasadena California. Her passion for California has remained a constant for over seventy years. For Arline though, despite her love of California, her deep connection to her Wisconsin family remained an anchor of strength and comfort to her. If she were able to give voice to the most treasured time in her life it would likely be her training and career as a Registered Nurse. Her children, her grandchildren, her home in her beloved Altadena, her extended family, her many dear friends and neighbors, her years of volunteer service and her world travels would follow in quick succession. Arline is survived by her daughter, Judith Pace Twomey of Monrovia California, her son, Ronald James Pace of Silverlakes California and their spouses, Kenneth Twomey and Paula Pace. Arline was blessed with three grandchildren, Andrea Pace, Jessica Twomey and Brian Twomey. She is also survived by four of her ten siblings, Walter Sprecher, Milton Sprecher, Lorna Anderson, and Lorene Erickson. Arline . . . . . . . . . Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Friend . . . your kind of love, once given, is never lost. You remain alive and luminous in our memories. You will rest forever in our hearts. Arline Sprecher Pace will be interred at Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena, California. Her passing will be marked by private graveside service. A celebration of Arline's life will be held at a future date yet to be determined.
