She was the daughter of Walter Raleigh Anderson Sr. and Mary Jones.
Death25 October 2013Gloria Jean Anderson died on 25 October 2013 Early Friday morning, October 25, 2013, surrounded by loved ones, Gloria Jean Anderson passed from life to eternity. Now, beyond the reach of death's alarms, she is with her Lord. Born in Columbia County, Florida, Gloria was the daughter of the late Walter Raleigh Anderson, Sr. and Mary Jones Anderson. Gloria received her education in the public schools of Columbia County and attended Santa Fe Community College. As a child she accepted Christ as her Savior. She was a lifelong member of the New St. James Baptist Church where she served even as her health failed. Gloria was passionate about church, serving as Deaconess, in choir, Sunday school, Bible study, and Pall Bearer's Lodge #2. When cancer came knocking, she simply declared, "In God, I have put my trust". As cancer persisted, she walked between suffering and sorrow, but still she declared, "I shall not die, but live and declare the works of the Lord." When cancer took its toll on her body and she was thin and frail, she simply declared "I walk by faith and not by sight." For 21 years, Gloria worked diligently for the City of Lake City in customer service. Gloria loved her job and the people there. Likewise, she was loved and cared for by supervisors and co-workers alike, no matter what department they worked in.
