Mary Lou is survived by her siblings, Gary, Mike, Bob (Laurie), Dennis, Theresa, Julie (Kent) Prather, and David (Wendy); along with two nieces, Montana and Mikayla; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 404 E. Main St., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec . 1, 2012, with Monsignor Kevin Holmes presiding. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the military; serving in both the Army and Marines. Dennis was an active member in both, American Legion Post 494 in Caledonia; where he proudly held the position of Adjutant, and American Legion Post 398 in Plain. He enjoyed spending time with his family, relatives, and friends. Had many interests, but the one he looked forward to every year was registering those deer at I-Diehl Tap. He will always be remembered for his “goofy” jokes, his game of euchre, but mostly for his big heart and generous spirit. Dennis is survived by, his brothers, Gary, Mike, Bob (Laurie), and David (Wendy), along with his sisters, Theresa and Julie (Kent). He is further survived by his two special nieces, Montana and Mikayla, and many other relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents LaVerne (Butch) and Luella Haas, a sister Mary Lou, his Grandparents, and many relatives. A Mass in Memory of Dennis will be held, Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., at the St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Plain, Wisconsin. He is further survived by his siblings, Richard (Vicki), Diane Harrison, David (Katrina), Debra (Kent) Partridge, and Dixie; brother-in-law, Richard (Ann) Olsen; sisters-in-law, Debra (Phillip) Iturbide and Kathryn Olsen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, James and Norma; parents-in-law, Everett (LaVerne) Olsen; and a brother-in-law, Everett "Skip" Olsen. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at the PHILLIP FUNERAL HOME in West Bend with Pastor John E. Sumwalt officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home in West Bend on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. The Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend is assisting the family.

She was baptized, confirmed and later married Daniel Sumwalt on Aug. 27, 1966, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Madison. Daniel preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2009. Vicki spent many years working at Sage Nursing Home, Amity Leather and most recently at Stitch & Time. She was also vice president of the Montana Iron Works.

Vicki was an accomplished singer. She not only enjoyed singing in the choir, but also earned many medals in singing competitions. Vicki was also runner-up in the Miss Madison East Pageant in 1964. Vicki was also an avid reader and loved the ladies’ outings. She further enjoyed canoeing, camping trips and, most of all, spending every moment possible with her family.

Vicki is survived by her loving sons, Dru (Caryn) Sumwalt and Dani (Maureen) Sumwalt; granddaughter, Angela; and Maureen’s son, Josh. She is further survived by her brother, Richard (Ann) Olsen; sister, Deborah (Phill) Iturbide; sister-in-law, Kathryn Olsen; special great-aunt, Mary Jane (Ven) Cypher; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Vicki is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; parents, Everett and Laverne; brother, Ev-erett “Skip” Olsen; and in-laws, James (Norma) Sumwalt.
A celebration of Vicki's life will be held at noon on Saturday, Oct. 23, at Vicki’s home.
