Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 3:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9-9:45 a.m. Monday at the funeral home before the service.

Lawrence was born on March 13, 1926, in Kieler , Wisconsin, the son of George and Mary (Kunkel) Kieler . He married Ruth Kerkenbush on February 14, 1953, at St. Andrew's Church in Tennyson, Wisconsin.

Lawrence had a strong love and respect for the land during his many years of farming and livestock production. He always referred to himself as a plain and simple farmer. He enjoyed fishing and turkey hunting. Lawrence was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5274 in Platteville.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Platteville; five daughters, Jean (Gerry) Tauke, and Cathy (Dennis) Pregler, both of Dubuque, Rose (Kevin) Silveira, of Madison, Shirley (Bill) Buss, of Platteville, and Donna Kieler , of Madison; three sons, Louis (Ann) Kieler , and George (Jackie) Kieler , both of Platteville, and Ray (friend Maria) Kieler , of Verona; three sisters, Louise Kieler , of Dubuque, Sylvia Wedig, of Belmont, and Sister Angeline Kieler , of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Catherine Loeffelholz and Elizabeth Van De Wiel; and his brothers Edward and Joseph.

Sylvia was born on July 15, 1928 in Kieler, Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Mary (Kunkel) Kieler. She was united in marriage to Wallace J. Wedig on May 26, 1948 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler. Together they farmed in the Belmont area. Sylvia was a member of the St. Philomena Altar Society and was also a member of the Kitchen Band. In her 50’s, she acquired her GED. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, bingo, crafting, gardening, dancing, and her making her infamous chocolate chip cookies. After moving to town, she worked at the Belmont Elementary School lunchroom where she enjoyed working and getting to know the students and staff.

Those left to cherish Susie’s memories include her children, Patrick (Mary) Wedig, Mary (Ron) Muller, Gerard (Bev) Wedig, Paul (Jane) Wedig, Jane (Jim) Pickel, and Sue (Dan) Baert; sister, Sr. Angeline Kieler, OSF; daughter-in-law, Karen (Steve) Loeschen; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; in-laws, Ruth Kieler, Bernie (Wedig) Weigel, Gary Lovell, Tom and Rita Wedig, and Sarah Klein; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Wedig; son, John Wedig; grandson, Daniel Baert; three brothers, Joe (Mary), Eddie (Berniece), and Lawrence Kieler; three sisters, Katherine (Vincent) Loeffelholz, Lizzie (Jerry) Van DeWeil, and Louise Kieler; and in-laws, John Norbert Wedig, Leo Wedig Jr., Joan Lovell, Sr. Mary Sharon Wedig, RSM, and Dick Klien.

Mr. Kieler was vice president of National Bank of Washington, D.C., for 45 years, retiring on July 1, 1971.

He was born on May 22, 1906, in Dubuque, son of John Henry and Frances (Brandt) Kieler . He married Theresa Basim on June 13, 1970, in Bowie, Md; she died in March 1986.

He attended Georgetown University and the Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was active in community and business organizations including the Board of Trade, the Northeast Business Men's Association, Inc., and the Northeast Citizens Association. He also was active in the Knights of Columbus, of which he was a member, having received a certificate of Merit in l997 honoring his 69-year membership.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Flora (Frank) Lambert and Sister Ancilla Kieler , O.S.F., of Mount St. Francis, both of Dubuque; a brother, Carl J. (Patricia) Kieler , of Falls Church; a sister-in-law, Marion (Irvin) Kieler , of Dubuque; a niece, Sister Eleanor Lambert, O.S.F., of Dubuque; and many other nieces and nephews and their families.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lillard (Hazel) Kieler , Irvin L. Kieler and an infant brother; and a sister, Mae (Ar) Rice.

Sister ministered as a music teacher in the Iowa cities of Dubuque (Holy Ghost), Waterloo (St. Mary), Fillmore, Worthington, Ossian, Remsen, Ashton, Granville, Stacyville and Luxemburg; she also ministered in Crescent City, Calif.

Sister is survived by her sister-in-law, Marion; her nieces, nephews; and her Franciscan sisters with whom she shared 77 years of her life.

Sister was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Lillard (Hazel); Ralph (Teresa), Irwin, Carl (Patricia); and her sisters, Flora (Frank) Lambert and Mae (Arlington) Rice.

Memorials may be given to the Sisters of St. Francis, Dubuque.

She attended the former St. Vincent Academy and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy, both in Dubuque.

Surviving are a daughter, Ann Marie (Ronald) Kann, of Dubuque; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Laurel) Kann, Debra (Jerry) Finkenauer, Keith (Mary) Kann, Tom (Paula) Kann, Steve (Nancy) Kann, Linda (John) Netti and Lisa (Mark) Kruser; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet, on Oct. 3, 1993; and a grandson, Jeffery Michael Kann, in 1974.

He has 10 grandchildren, Kenny Kieler of Darlington, Joey Kieler of Platteville, Heidi (Jeff) Ferguson of Boston, Mass., Ashley Kieler of Madison, Dan (Molly) Kieler of Hazel Green, Jenny (Eric) Salis of Potosi, Nathan (Ashley) Kieler of Belmont, Katelyn Kieler of Hazel Green, Jacob Kieler of Hazel Green, and Luke Kieler of Hazel Green; one great-grandchild, Hallie Salis; one brother, Floyd Kieler of Tennyson; and one sister, Mary Ann Melssen of Dickeyville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Josephine Kieler; and siblings, Margie, Ambrose, Andy, Charles, Harvey and Jimmy. Clair was actively helping on John's farm, feeding calves and cows, up until his 90th birthday. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting deer in Wisconsin with his sons and grandsons, and trips hunting mule deer in Wyoming. Joan and Clair enjoyed traveling and watching the Packers. Clair was also fond of fishing trips with his sons and grandkids as well as babysitting his two youngest grandsons, Jacob and Luke. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Sinsinawa, with the Rev. Francis Steffen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday at CASEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES in Cuba City.

Surviving are two brothers, Clair Kieler , of Hazel Green, and Floyd Kieler , of Potosi, and a sister, Mary Ann (Henry) Melssen, of Dickeyville.

He was preceded in death his parents, Charles H. and Josephine Kieler ; a sister, Margie Melssen; and four brothers, Ambrose, Leander, Harvey and James.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at St. Andrew Church in Tennyson with Rev. Richard Leffler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors accorded. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 3:45 p.m.

Floyd was born on November 4, 1927, in Louisburg, Wisconsin, to Charles and Josephine (Kunkel) Kieler, and grew up on the family farm in Kieler. He attended Kieler grade school and Loras Academy for high school and ROTC School. He was joined in marriage to Ellen Kohn on December 30, 1950. Floyd served his country as an army sergeant in the Korean War. Floyd was also a proud John Deere worker, retiring in 1987.

Floyd was a man of many talented gifts but his greatest talent was the gift of carpentry. He constructed beautiful pieces for his family and friends. Whether it be a small repair or a complete bedroom outfit, it was always done with great detail. He loved to play cards with anyone that was willing, with his favorite being "Solo." He also loved being outdoors tending to his yard or garden. No matter what anyone needed, Floyd was always willing to give a helping hand.

Floyd also loved spending time with his family, whether it be his children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren. He always had time for you.

Floyd's faith was of the utmost importance to him being a member of SS. Andrew-Thomas Parish in Tennyson.

Floyd left behind four daughters, Diane (Dave) Konshak, of Cuba City, Denise (Ed) McKenzie, of Potosi, Donna (Tom) Digman, of Hazel Green, and Dena (Jay) Udelhofen, of Potosi; one son, Rodney "T-Bone" (Sheila Jansen) Kieler , of Cuba City; and a daughter-in-law, Dana Kieler, of Dickeyville. Floyd also left behind seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; and a sister, Mary Ann Melssen, of Dickeyville.

Floyd was reunited with his wife, Ellen; three sons, Roy, Roger, and Richard "Dick"; and his parents, Charles and Josephine Kieler . He was also reunited with his sister, Margaret Melssen, and his six brothers, Ambrose, Leander, Clair, Charles, Harvey and James.
