"Wally" Nachreiner, age 90, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, at St. Clare Hospice Care in Baraboo after a long illness. He was born on March 12, 1915, in Franklin Township, the son of Simon and Gustina (Gruber) Nachreiner. Wally was married to Ellen Brickl on Oct. 14, 1946. He served his country in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He worked for Kraemer Plumbing in Plain, before his employment with Oscar Mayer, from where he retired in 1977 after 26 years of service. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, gardening, and woodworking. Wally was a member of St. Aloysius Church. Survivors include six children, Charles Nachreiner (friend Eileen) of Middleton, Sharon Brickl of Middleton, June (Bill) Ganser of Waunakee, David Nachreiner (friend Tone) of Lenexa, Kan., James Nachreiner of Madison, and Mark (Jane) Nachreiner of Baraboo; five grandchildren, Jacqui (Bob) Ganser-Wentink, Aaron Ganser, Raya Nachreiner, Amelia Nachreiner, and Daniel Nachriener. Wally was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Frank (Bertha), John (Agnes), Frederick (Lucille) and Arthur (Regina) Nachreiner; five sisters, Tillie (Albert) Kraemer, Clara (Martin) Meister, Irma (Lawrence) Boylen, and Rose (Raymond) Maxwell, and an infant sister, Alma. Wally had many special friends and relatives who enriched his life. The family would like to thank everyone for your visits, companionship, compassion, and caring. Your kindness will not be forgotten. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City, with Father Kevin Holmes officiating. Burial with military graveside services by the Sauk Prairie Lachmund-Cramer V.F.W. Post 7694 will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Hooverson Funeral Home Sauk City, Wis.
