She was born on October 9, 1940 in Vernon County to Reuben and Stella (Birkelo) Tally. Shirley’s father was a farmer in Viroqua, WI and she grew up with the farm girl experience. Shirley attended a one room schoolhouse by walking a mile each way. Shirley was primarily raised by her father and grandmother Birkelo guiding her into adulthood.

She married Alden “Pete” Hagen and lived in Westby, WI. They were blessed with two children, David and Barbara. They relocated to Windsor, WI where Shirley worked for American Breeders Service (ABS Global) for 35 years. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Spring Green for 25 years and was active in the church’s women’s organization and care community. Shirley met Bill Gruber in 1996. Their love of traveling, country music, quiet time, and family values led to their marriage in 2001. Bill was a perfect fit with Shirley’s family taking on the role of grandfather to Jon and Amy and enjoying many rides in his classic cars. Together they purchased a summer getaway for family gatherings at Jellystone in Warrens, WI. Shirley’s twinkling eyes and smiling face when she was with family and friends, especially her grandchildren Jon and Amy and great grandchildren Shane and May, will be missed.

Survivors include her children David (Kathy) Hagen of Mount Horeb, Barbara (Ken) Tiedt of Madison, grandchildren Jon (Danielle) Tiedt of Marshall, WI, Amy (Grant) Witcraft of Black River Falls, WI, great grandchildren Shane Tiedt and May Jean Witcraft, brother, Larry Tally of Warrens, WI and Mesa, AZ, in-laws, Floyd and Lois Gruber, Carol and Dave Lins, Delores Gruber, Rita Gruber, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Stella Tally, her second husband, Bill Gruber, and a sister-in-law, Karen Tally.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 11:00am at Christ Lutheran Church in Spring Green, WI with Pastor Jacob Greeneway officiating. Burial in the Norway Grove Cemetery, Deforest, WI will take place Friday, December 6, 2024 at 10:00am. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.

Jaime was born on April 28, 1976, in Platteville, Wisconsin, to Douglas and Pamela (Alt) Nodolf. She graduated from Belmont High School in 1994. Jaime graduated from Madison Area Technical College in 1996 with an associate’s degree in business management and furthered her education graduating from UW School of Radiologic Technology in 2000 and University of St. Francis in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in healthcare leadership.

Jaime worked at UW Hospital for the last 24 years where her current role was Interventional Radiology Manager. She was a member of the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) and the Association of Vascular and Interventional Radiographers (AVIR). Jaime was a superstar and national leader in the IR profession. She held many AVIR board positions including Director at Large, Vice President, President and on the Annual Meeting Program committee for many years. Jaime won the AVIR Award of Excellence in 2006. She made many lifelong friends at work who said she always brightened their day with her smile and made an impact on their lives.

Born to bring joy and laughter, Jaime knew how to make the most of every moment whether it was letting her hair fly free riding motorcycles, ripping through the cold on snowmobiles, or being a proud member of Skinny’s Angels bowling team. Her magnetic personality turned every gathering into an adventure, her laughter was contagious, and her loyalty to her friends and family was unmatched. She taught us all how to embrace life with open arms and an open heart. But above all, she was the ultimate cheerleader for her son, Jackson, rarely missing a chance to be in the stands cheering on her favorite person. Our world is forever brighter because she was in it.

Jaime is survived by her soul mate, Tim Carey; son, Jackson Nodolf-Carey; stepson, Mitchell Kautz; sisters, Christa (Peter) Weghorn and Danielle (Rusty) Lynch; brother, James “JD” (Niki) Nodolf; nieces, Makayla (Brady) Rieken, Jade and Madison Nodolf; and nephews, Brendan and Brock Lynch; great-nephews, Brier and Boyer Garvey, great-nieces, Harlow and Haven Rieken, grandmother, Joyce Alt, many aunts, uncles, and her beloved crew of friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Samantha Nodolf-Carey, parents, Douglas and Pamela Nodolf, grandparents, Gerald Alt, Robert and Patricia Nodolf; and niece, Faith Lynch.

His faith played an important role in his life, and he was actively involved in the church throughout the years. He attended Loganville Elementary School and Reedsburg High School before graduating from Madison Area Technical College with a focus on Vocational Agriculture. Furthering his education, Gerald completed many firefighter training courses and proudly served in the Army Reserves.

Gerald’s life revolved around his beloved dairy farm. He devoted his heart and soul to the farm, which became a cornerstone of his life. It was an honor for the family to host the Sauk County Dairy Breakfast in 1993. In 2007, Gerald and Margaret were named Butterfest King & Queen. The family saying "From sun up to sun down, there’s never a dull moment at Roecker’s Rolling Acres," encapsulated his passion for farming and his family.

His commitment to the community was evident through 58 years of service with the Loganville Area Fire Department, including 15 years as Fire Chief. Gerald also enjoyed John Deere tractors, tractor pulls, NASCAR, playing euchre, and making old fashions. In his younger years, he was fond of roller skating, square dancing, and bowling. He took great joy in attending the activities of his children and grandchildren, always supporting their endeavors.

Surviving Gerald are his wife, Margaret; children Randy Roecker (Linda Korklewski) and Rebecca (Roecker) Ryan; grandchildren Ryanne (James) Hiner Jr. and Ross (Danielle) Roecker; great-grandchildren Julianne, Evelyn, and Robert Hiner; his sister, Lois (Roecker) Kopf; brother-in-law, William (Diana) Thieding; aunt, Marion (Schlieckau) Roecker; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Ella Roecker; in-laws Herman and Anna (Raedel) Thieding; brother-in-law, Gordon Kopf; sister-in-law, Adeline (Thieding) (LaVern) Peper, and Verdi Peper; and nephews, Terry Thieding, and Paul Peper.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Loganville. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, with the service following at 11:30 AM. Reverend Kris Totzke, Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Reedsburg will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery with military rites following the service.

She was born in San Bernardino, Calif., in February 1949 and married her high school sweetheart, Michael, in 1971, after both moved to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly.

Jayne graduated from San Bernardino Valley College in 1969 and transferred to Cal Poly where she studied Physical Education. After graduating, she opened a store on Marsh Street called The Backdoor. She bought out The Persian Market in 1974 and moved The Backdoor into its location on Chorro Street across from the Old Mission.

She specialized in selling country-style antiques and home decor at the store. She changed the name to A Bushel and A Peck in 1980 before she closed the doors in 1985 to be a full-time mom. She also owned and operated Cattaneo Bros., Inc. with her husband since 1988.

Jayne dedicated her life to youth development. Over her 20 plus years of volunteering with 4-H, she served as a project leader and community leader, plus she coordinated the county-wide Food and Arts Celebration, and served as fundraising chair on the County Development Board. Jayne treasured her time with all of the kids in her own 4- H club, Edna Valley.

Jayne was preceded in death by her husband, Michael and daughter, Kelly.
