Glen Pace of St. Louis, assisted by Rev. Tullie Tompkins, local pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiated. The church choir sang and friends were pall bearers. She was buried in the Eldon Cemetery and interment was directed by Kays Funeral Service. Jerusha Louisa Wahle was born Feb. 19,1873, in Morgan Co. near Gravois Mills, the daughter of Thomas M. and Martha Hibdon. She was married Feb. 17,1897 to Mart McGorder, who died Dec. 23,1918. One son, Dillard, was born to them. He died in 1915 at the age of 18. Mrs. McGorder married Joseph H. Barnhart in 1922. He died January 7,1926. Several years later, she married Frank Wahle. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Vina Kennedy of Eldon, and one brother, J. E. Hibdon, of Harrison, Ark; also a number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. When a young woman, she became a member of the Christian Church. Sharon Christensen died on 13 November 2022 at age 72 Sharon Kay Kleinschmit, age 72, of Yankton, South Dakota, died on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Sharon struggled with many health issues throughout her life. She was strong, brave, and courageously fought until the very end.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton with Reverend Bob Lacey officiating. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Bow Valley, Nebraska.

Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a rosary and vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior the funeral at the church.

Pallbearers are Sharon’s eight grandchildren: Douglas Jr., Lucus and Erik Kleinschmit, Dylan and Mason Steffen, Christian and Brooklynn Gall, and Carter Teply. Honorary pallbearer is Sharon’s great-grandson, Gaven Hayden.

Sharon was born on March 24, 1950, to Roy and Vlasta (Svarc) Christensen in Yankton, SD. Sharon has one younger brother, Leonard, who affectionately referred to her as “Kay.” Sharon grew up in Yankton and graduated from Yankton High School in 1968. The following year, Sharon married the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Kleinschmit on June 7, 1969, at Sacred Heart Church. Jerry and Sharon have 4 children: Douglas Sr., Shiela, Sherri and Geraldine. Jerry and Sharon made their home close to Jerry’s parents near Bow Valley, NE. Sharon always considered this her home even after the family moved to Yankton in 1992.

Sharon’s life work was dedicated to raising her four children which she did while Jerry worked as an over the road truck driver. As Sharon’s children grew up, she then started working as a waitress. Sharon worked at Sunshine Cafe, the Western Grill and Yesterday’s Café. Sharon was an incredibly hard worker and developed many wonderful relationships while she worked as a waitress. She always cherished those relationships. Sharon loved looking for treasures and enjoyed going to rummage sales and shopping at the “GW” (Goodwill.)

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Kleinschmit of Yankton; children: Douglas (Lori) Kleinschmit of Hartford, SD, Shiela Steffen (Todd Quatier) of Mission Hill, SD, Sherri (Adam) Gall of Norfolk, NE and Geraldine (Tom) Teply of Yankton; her grandchildren: Douglas Jr, Lucus and Erik Kleinschmit, Dylan (Darrah) and Mason Steffen, Sally and Nathan Quatier, Christian and Brooklynn Gall, Carter Teply, Lisa Mayfield, Jeremy Meyer: great-grandson, Gaven Kleinschmit; and brother, Leonard (Kathy) Christensen.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Vlasta Christensen; her father and mother in-law, Gerald and Irene Kleinschmit; and her friend and sister-in-law, Pat Kleinschmit in May 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet Gandolph; a son, Joseph Gandolph; and a sister, Vicki Hickman. Funeral services will be held at SHERMAN AVENUE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 3705 N. Sherman Ave., on Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rae A. Gust died on 14 February 2010 at age 83 Rae A. Dyb, age 83, of 1300 Briggs St., died Sunday, February 14, 2010 at St. Michaels Hospital following a short illness. Rae was born November 28, 1926 in Madison, WI to the late Julius and Angela (Barney) Gust. She grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison East High School. She attended the University of Wisconsin two years. She married Phil Gandolph, but was later divorced. She married Luther Dyb who preceded her in death in 2005. Rae worked in Lorraine County, Ohio as Chief Deputy Clerk of Courts for a number of years. She later moved to Mexico and then Arizona before moving to Stevens Point in 1995 to be near her sons. Rae enjoyed playing bingo and her cat, Stinky. She spent the last seven years taking care of her mother, who died this past January at 104 years old. Survivors include a son, Carl (Renee) Dyb of Stevens Point; daughters, Barbara (Dick) Valley of McGregor, Minnesota and Philana (Gene) Friede of Stoughton, WI. She is preceded in death by sons William Dyb and Joseph Gandolph, besides 5 brothers and sisters. A Celebration of her Life will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Boston Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Christiansen officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until time of service. On line condolences may be made at bostonfuneralhome.net.
