Inurnment with military honors will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.

Marcie was born to Alta and Hauko Janssen on October 28, 1948 in Dell Rapids, South Dakota. At age 13 she moved to Rapid City, South Dakota and graduated from Rapid City High School in 1966. She received her B.A. in Education with a Minor in Music in 1970 and taught 5th grade for five years for Douglas System in Box Elder, South Dakota. She married Doug Lykken in Rapid City on August 10, 1974. She was involved in the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life, Big Spring Health Fair, Howard County Fair and was the 2014 President of the 1955 Hyperion Club. She was active at First United Methodist Church in the Pathmakers Sunday School Class, Teddy Bear Ministry, Chancel Choir from 1981 thru 1999 and First Methodist Living Christmas Tree.
She is survived by her husband Doug Lykken; numerous friends in Big Spring; her cat Tabby and her baby dog Angel. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or First Methodist Church.
Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.

Rose and her husband Jerry farmed all of their lives in the Boring Oregon area. They traveled the United States in their motor home. Rose's last trip was 5,200 miles in Sept 2019 to a Rupp Family Reunion in South Dakota and then on to Cherokee for reunions with brother Norman and many nieces and nephews from Iowa & Minnesota.

They raised 7 children and owned 3 farms in Oregon until they built their last home in Camas WA in 1997. Rose & Jerry celebrated their 50th Anniversary in the new home they built together. Jerry (1925-2003) always said the river house was for Rose because of all the sacrifices she made so they could buy farm equipment and keep working farms.

Rose remained living on the banks of the Columbia River in Washington until 2018 when she moved to Vancouver WA.
