Duane L. Radel died on 15 October 2009 at age 78 Duane L. Radel, age 78, of Spring Green, passed away at the Greenway Manor Nursing Home on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009. He was born on March 18, 1931, the son of Roy and Stella (Jones) Radel. He was married on April 16, 1955, to the former Monica Kraemer. Duane was a member of the Spring Green Rod and Gun Club, the Spring Green Lions Club, the River Valley Players, the Bloomin Buddies Garden Club and St. John's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Monica Radel of Spring Green; six children, Kim (Jeanine) Radel of Spring Green, Fred (Luanne) Radel of Spring Green, Vicki (Jay) Edwards of Nebraska, Kevin (LaDonna) Radel of Waunakee, Mary Jo (Roger) Halchin of North Carolina, and Cindy Radel; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Marlyn (Elizabeth) Radel of Spring Green; five sisters, Avalyn Stark of Madison, Elaine Schaefer of Normal, Ill., Joyce (Chester) Howard of Middleton, Eloise (William) Nicholson of Wisconsin Rapids, and Loraine (Cyril) Feiner of De Forest; a sister-in-law, Rosie Radel of Spring Green; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Stella Radel; a brother, Lloyd Radel; and a sister, Juan Johnson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Spring Green. Fr. Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made.

Monica Kraemer died on 4 December 2023 at age 87 Monica J. (Kraemer) Radel, age 87 of Spring Green, passed away on December 4, 2023 at Greenway Manor Nursing Home in Spring Green after a short illness. She was born on February 27, 1936, the daughter of Reuben and Johanna (Bodendein) Kraemer. She married Duane Radel on April 16, 1955, in Spring Green.

She graduated from Spring Green High School and worked several jobs over the years, some while dairy farming with her husband and some after. Some of her jobs included cooking at Round Barn Restaurant and the Arena Elementary School. In later years she was a sales representative for Lands’ End in Cross Plains. Monica was a very active member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Spring Green. Monica and Duane were well known in the area for their raspberry patch making many customers very happy. She enjoyed gardening, her flower gardens, as well as playing cards.

She is survived by her children, Kim (Jeanine), Fred, Vicki (Jay) Edwards, Kevin (LaDonna), Mary Jo (Roger) Halchin, and Cindy Ranson. She is further survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcie Banker, Janet Nelson, Mary Porter, Sharon (Tom) Swinehart; brothers, Rick (Phyllis) Kraemer, Ron Kraemer; sister and brother-in-law, Bill and Eloise Nicholson; and sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Radel and Loraine Feiner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane, her parents, grandson, Spencer Radel, brothers in law, Gary Banker, Gerald Nelson, John Porter, sister-in-law, Kay Kraemer and Duane’s siblings and their spouses.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Spring Green with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of Mass at 11:00 A.M.
