She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at her home. LaVerne was born April 7, 1929, in Ableman, the second of five children born to Edward and Minnie (Schimniok) Stackman. Her marriage to Willard Krueger was blessed with two children, Jane (Bob) Elmer of Plain and Michael James Krueger of Kingsville, Texas. After Willard’s premature death in 1973, she married William Kenneth Young and they enjoyed the years together until his death in 2007. She was a great life-partner, mother and homemaker. Words that best describe her are vibrant, resilient, generous and kind-hearted. She made her family’s needs her top priority and she lived in many communities where she connected with her church families, most recently, Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingsville, Texas. LaVerne is survived by her children; her grandchildren, Holly Lynn (Kent) Purser of Apple Valley, California, and Chad (Laura) Elmer of Hesperia, California; her great-granddaughter Morgan Olivia Elmer; two brothers, Edward (Norma) Stackman of Muscoda and Wayne (Jackie) Stackman of Boise, Idaho; her extended Kentucky family; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She is also survived by her little dog Annie who has brought her great joy as her constant companion. She was preceded in death by her two husbands; her parents; her mother and father-in law Alice and Lavern Ohland; her brother and sister-in-law Arlin and Romaine Stackman; and her sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Robert Holtz. In accordance with LaVerne’s wishes, a service of remembrance will be held at a later date. Her burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Reedsburg, next to Willard. LaVerne was born April 7, 1929, in Ableman, the second of five children born to Edward and Minnie (Schimniok) Stackman. Her marriage to Willard Krueger was blessed with two children, Jane (Bob) Elmer of Plain and Michael James Krueger of Kingsville, Texas. After Willard’s premature death in 1973, she married William Kenneth Young and they enjoyed the years together until his death in 2007.

She was a great life-partner, mother and homemaker. Words that best describe her are vibrant, resilient, generous and kind-hearted. She made her family’s needs her top priority and she lived in many communities where she connected with her church families, most recently, Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingsville, Texas.

Louise attended Sunday School and was confirmed on March 17, 1940 by Pastor Carl Stubenvoll. She taught Sunday School and helped Yolanda Giese start the nursery class. She also later taught other classes with children of all ages which was something Louise dearly loved. Louise worked at Nichols Drug Store for many years and later at Home Health both in Reedsburg until retiring to take care of her parents. She was very happy to do so with the Lord's help along with the assistance of other family members. Survivors include her two sisters-in-law: Mildred Krueger and Mabel Krueger, both of Loganville; nieces and nephews: Shirley (Duane) Meyer, Gary (Ann) Krueger, Rhonda (Dennis) Pingel, Keith (Amy) Krueger, Sheila (Calvin) Steinweg and Kevin (Julie) Krueger; great nieces and nephews: Mary, Malinda, Ashley, Lindsay, Daniel, Matthew, Michael, Christina, Laurie, Jeremy, Krista, Kara, Sally, Daniel, Kaitlyn and Kyle; aunts, many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Carol, Roger and infant Arthur as well as a great niece: Amanda. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Donald Glanzer officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the church. They raised seven children: Richard (Janice) Nachtigal, James Nachtigal, Reedsburg; Cindy (John) Nelson, of Jupiter, FL; Wendy (Joe) Gates, of LaValle; Tim Nachtigal, of Reedsburg; Tom (Sherri) Nachtigal, of Winona, MN; Todd Nachtigal, of Reedsburg. Art was blessed with and survived by eight grandchildren: Brett Nachtigal, Anne (Jay) Bishop, Tammy Nachtigal, Becky Walker, J.J. (Jamie) Gates, Katie Nachtigal, Noah Nachtigal, and Tyler Nachtigal; along with many great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Hartje, one sister-in-law, Emma Mittlesteadt, in addition to many nieces and nephews. On May 6, 1946, Ramona married Arthur Nachtigal in a joint ceremony with Irvin and Eva Mittlesteadt in Baraboo. They raised seven children: Richard (Jan) Nachtigal, deceased; James Nachtigal, of Reedsburg; Cindy (John) Nelson, of Jupiter, FL; Wendy (Joe) Gates, of LaValle; Tim Nachtigal, of Reedsburg; Tom (Sherri) Nachtigal, of Winona, MN; and Todd Nachtigal, of Reedsburg. They were also blessed with eight grandchildren: Brett Nachtigal, Anne Nachtigal, Tammy Nachtigal, Becky Walker, J.J. (Jamie) Gates, Katie Nachtigal, Noah Nachtigal and Tyler Nachtigal; along with her great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Delores and Emma Mittlesteadt; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son: Richard; and her three brothers: Russell, Rupert (Lucille) and John Mittlesteadt. Ramona worked as a nurse's aide for many years and was heavily involved with Special Olympics. In her spare time, she enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables from their large garden. She will also be remembered for her baking, especially at Christmas time with her delicious pepper nuts, orange cookies and her cut-out cookies. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor David Glesne officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery at LaValle. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics or to Casa de Oakes in Reedsburg. On May 11, 2002, he was married to the former Linda J. Gutzman. Tom owned and operated Schlieckau Auto Body. He did body work on cars, trucks and tractors for over thirty years. Tom enjoyed attending car shows, camping with his family and collecting hot wheel toys. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville. Survivors include his wife, Linda; four children: Summer Schlieckau, at home; Justin (Theresa) Holman, of Wonewoc; Jeremy Holman, of Wonewoc and Jacob (Megan) Holman, of Reedsburg; one granddaughter: Maya; his mother: Beverly Schlieckau, of Loganville; three siblings: Brian (Judy) Schlieckau, of Loganville; Linda Schlieckau, of Loganville and Kurt (Janis) Schlieckau, of North Freedom; his mother-in-law: Janet Gutzman, of Northfield, MN; three brothers-in-law: David (Lynn) Gutzman; Jon (Lori) Gutzman and Duane Peterson; two sisters-in-law: Dawna Gutzman and Mary (Jeff) Freirermuth; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold and his father-in-law: Rev. George Gutzman. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Donald Glanzer officiating. She was born on December 18, 1933 to Edmund and Lydia (Lucht) Brandt at the family farm south of Hillpoint. Estrella was baptized at her parents home on Christmas Day 1933. She was confirmed on April 14, 1946. She attended seven years at parochial school, eighth grade in public school and four years of high school in Lime Ridge. Estrella helped her Dad on the farm driving tractors and the truck. She also worked for three years at Hankscraft in Reedsburg. On September 5, 1958, she married Arold A. Hamburg at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Hillpoint. Together she worked side by side with her husband farming until his retirement. She later worked at the Advantage Advertiser for six years. Estrella enjoyed gardening and extensive traveling, worked on the Election Board and made quilts for missions. She was a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband, Arold; two daughters: Doreen Hamburg, and her husband, Todd Holtz and Darla Hamburg Smith, and her husband, Tim; six grandchildren: Clay Wethal, Sonja Lange, Timothy Smith, Billy, Alison and Connor Holtz; two sisters: Elvira Moon and Elda (LeRoy) Riedel; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a niece: Debra Viljevac and brother-in-law: Earl Moon. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Donald Glanzer officiating.
