Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Platteville.
She was survived by two daughters, Linda (Norbert) Noel, of Platteville, Wis., and Karen Kieler, of Denver; three sons, Robert Kieler, Gerald Kieler, and Roger Kieler, all of Platteville, Wis; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul (Alice) Loeffelholz, of Rewey, Wis., and Linus Loeffelholz, of Brooklyn, Wis. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; a brother, Sylvester Loeffelholz; and a sister, Margaret Richter.

Cathy was born on January 2, 1962 to Anton & Catherine (Burbach) Schmitt in Hazel Green, WI. She was a graduate from Southwestern High School and later from NICC with an Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy. She worked for over 25 years at Southwest Health as a respiratory therapist. She married the love of her life, Gary P. Helbing on October 14, 1983 in Hazel Green, WI. Cathy was a natural ‘green thumb’ when it came to plants & flowers in her home. From a banana tree, a gorgeous bird of paradise, roses, and hibiscus, Cathy could do it. Cathy also enjoyed going to the beach, searching for beautiful shells and coral to add to her collection. Most of all, Cathy enjoyed time spent with her family, her granddaughter, Lily, and her friends. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Gary; her daughter, Katie (Brian) Majerus and their daughter Lily of Mount Horeb, WI; her mother, Catherine (Gerald) Weber of Lancaster, WI; 3 siblings: Anton Schmitt of Hazel Green, WI, Donna Krieger of Platteville, WI and Bernadette Valo of Enoch, UT; along with many beloved family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Anton Schmitt.

Roselin was born on August 25, 1924, in Grant County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Ida (Montag) Jansen. She married LaVern J. Splinter on October 17, 1944, in Kieler. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2009.

Roselin was a hard working farm wife, mother and homemaker. She did all the cooking, baking and sewing for the family. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, reading and doing crossword puzzles.

She had a very religious orientation with a special devotion to Mary. Together Roselin and LaVern raised eight children. She lived for her family and sacrificed much for her family.

Roselin is survived by five daughters and three sons, Carol Weland, of Dubuque, Jane and Mary Splinter, of Platteville, Rita (Gary) Hingtgen, of Kieler, Donna (Tom) Covert, of Platteville, LaVern Splinter Jr., of Platteville, David (Diane) Splinter, of Dickeyville, and Ken (Cathy) Splinter, of Platteville. She is also survived by a brother, Paul F. (Alice Charpentier) Jansen, of Lewiston, Idaho; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marie (Walter) Hinderman and Leora (Ed) Helbing; a brother, Eldon (Marge) Jansen; her in-laws, Irenus and Caroline (Kruser) Splinter; a son-in-law, Robert Weland; a grandson, Jesse Splinter; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Mr. Helbing owned and operated Harold's Radio and TV for 42 years. For the past 17 years, he also drove a school bus for the Dubuque Community School District. Though Harold worked up until the time of his death, he would often remark that he had been retired forever since he did what he wanted for a living.

He was born on July 2, 1941, son of Joseph and Elma (Dalsing) Helbing. He married Sandra Sabers on Nov. 25, 1961, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He graduated from the former St. Columbkille High School, Dubuque, class of 1959.

He was a member of Holy Ghost Parish.

Harold's true calling in life was being a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a selfless man who was always willing to lend a hand or give you the shirt off of his back, as long as it wasn't his lucky fishing shirt.

He was a plumber, electrician, auto mechanic, carpenter, biker, record collector, solitaire champion, pack-rat, model airplane enthusiast, Sam's Club member, lumberjack, home builder, confidant, family man and flower gardener, all wrapped up into a happy-go-lucky man of faith, who laughed from the belly and loved with all of his heart. Above all, Harold enjoyed spending time with the people he loved most - everyone.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Helbing , of Dubuque; sons and daughters, Gerald (Sheila) Helbing , David Helbing , Patrick Helbing , Michele Helbing , Marsha (Richard) Kamm, Tina (Casey) Slaght and Vicky (Rolando) Xicon, all of Dubuque, Karen Baumgartner, of Worthington, Minn., Paula (Mark) Leute, of East Dubuque, Ill., and Robert (Julie) Helbing , of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; 27 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mary (Gary) Nicks and Kenneth (Elaine) Helbing , both of Dubuque, Judy (Eldon) Wiederholt and John (Nancy) Helbing , both of Cuba City, Wis., and Doris (Mike) Lange, of Hazel Green, Wis; and a brother-in-law, Marvin (Phyllis) Ludwig, of Cuba City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rita Ludwig; and a grandson, Max Helbing .
