She was born on Feb. 23, 1917, in Honeycreek Township, the oldest daughter of William and Clara (Fargen) Mears. She graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1935. She was married to Henry Alt on Nov. 8, 1938. Julia was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Loreto. She was active in the Big Hollow Bears 4-H Club serving as a leader. Julia was a charter member of the Richland County Liners Homemakers Club, starting in 1965. Julia loved her Irish heritage, and took the opportunity to do the Irish jig whenever she got the chance. She also enjoyed making candles for numerous celebrations. Julia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry in May 1996; three brothers, William, Francis and twin brother, Henry; three sisters, Monica, Florence (Keith) and Ann (Charles); and brothers-in-law, Jack and Ken. She is survived by her children, Ronald (Pat) Alt of Lone Rock, Lawrence (Sue) Alt of Lone Rock, Rose Ann (Steve) Bennett of Denver, Colo., John (Joan) Alt of Spring Green, and Bernard (Kelly) Alt of Lone Rock; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Oder of Richland Center, and Mary Logan of Albuquerque, N.M; along with many other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial for Julia Alt will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2008, at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Loreto with Father Lorin Bowens and Father Michael Resop concelebrating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Memorials of remembrance may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Farber Funeral Home of Reedsburg is assisting the family. She was buried after 30 March 2008 at St Patrick Loretto Cemetery, Bear Creek, Sauk, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Kenneth H. Logan; her parents, William and Clara, nee Fargen, Mears; a son, David Logan; brothers, Henry, Joseph, and Francis Mears; and sisters, Margaret Oder and Julia Ault. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Mae (Gary) Lingerfelt of High Point, N.C; a son, Douglas P. George Karol Lykken married Barbara Jean Amundsen, daughter of Sverre Amundsen and Marie Meinjohans, on 17 April 1946 at Union, South Dakota, County of Residence: Union.1 George Karol Lykken died on 26 December 1988 at Sedona, Coconino, Arizona, at age 70.2 He was buried after 26 December 1988 at Roseni Cemetery, Union, South Dakota.
     He obtained US Social Security Card at South Dakota; Last residence Sedona, Coconino, Arizona. George Karol Lykken was also known as George Karel. He was listed as a son in Sigvold Olsen Lykken's household on the 1930 Census at Big Springs, Union, South Dakota.3 On 25 June 1967 at Larson family reunion picnic, Mitchell, South Dakota.

     Selma Josephine Lykken was born on 12 December 1912 at Alcester, Union, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Sigvold Olsen Lykken and Betsy Larson. Selma Josephine Lykken was christened on 12 January 1913 at Roseni Parish, Union, South Dakota. She married Henning Emanuel Westin, son of Hans Westin and Anna Olson, on 16 February 1958. Selma Josephine Lykken died on 14 February 2009 at age 96 Funeral services for Selma Westin will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18th at Peace Lutheran Church in Alcester. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wass Funeral Home in Alcester with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and the family present from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Selma was born December 12, 1912 in Union County, South Dakota to Sigvald and Betsy (Larson) Lykken. She died February 14, 2009 at Morningside Care Center in Alcester at the age of 96 years, two months and two days. Selma was baptized and confirmed at Roseni Lutheran Church. She attended Prospect Hill School and Alcester High School. Following her graduation from Sioux City Academy of Beauty Culture in 1940 she worked in Sioux City. During WWII Selma returned to the Alcester area to help her family and she worked for several families in Alcester. Selma married H. Henning Westin February 16, 1958 at Peace Lutheran Church in Alcester. She worked with Henning at Westin Radio and TV Service in Alcester for many years. She and Henning liked to travel and visit family and friends. Selma entered Morningside Manor in Feb. 2003. Henning died Aug. 2003. Her parents; husband; two brothers, O´Neal and George and five sisters, Alice, Ella, Bertha, Mary and Ruth preceded her in death. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Barbara Lykken of Alcester, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Published on February 17, 2009.
     Selma Josephine Lykken was also known as Salma. She had zero children. She was listed as a daughter in Sigvold Olsen Lykken's household on the 1930 Census at Big Springs, Union, South Dakota.1 As of 16 February 1958,her married name was Westin.

     Lydia Mary Lykken was born on 28 November 1914 at Alcester, Union, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Sigvold Olsen Lykken and Betsy Larson. Lydia Mary Lykken was christened on 3 January 1915 at Roseni Parish, Union, South Dakota. She died on 30 August 1939 at Roseni, Union, South Dakota, at age 24 During her last three and a half weeks, Mary suffered a serious illness and suffered from pneumonia during her last week of life. Her sister, Mrs. Evjen, took care of her during this time. Mary rapidly lost strength as a result of the pneumonia.
