She grew up in Elk Point and attended public school. She was united in marriage to John Pomerenke on December 21, 1941, at Brule Creek Lutheran Church in South Dakota. Following their marriage, she moved to Seattle, Washington with her sister-in-law, Olga to work as a riveter on B-17 Bombers at Boeing during WWII, while her husband was in the service.
    She and her husband moved to the Alexandria area to farm in 1946. Several years later they moved to the Rose City area to a farm where they lived until 1968. In 1974, she moved to Alexandria where she lived for many years until moving to Evansville where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a member of Esther Lutheran Church, its ladies aid, former Sunday school teacher, and a former member of the Miltona American Legion Auxiliary. Earleen enjoyed gardening, sewing, raising chickens, cooking and canning. She especially loved being a mother. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Gaylon; grandson, Troy; four sisters and two brothers. Earleen is survived by two sons, DuWayne Pomerenke of Eagle Bend and Craig (fiancee, Lisa Nordang) Pomerenke of Hewitt; a daughter, Rosemary (John) Biel of Arlington, Texas; three grandchildren, Brent Pomerenke, Charles Biel and Maria Biel. Pallbearers were Jeff Pomerenke, Art Pomerenke, Robbie Ekdahl, Marvie Meyers, Larry Sanvik and Dennis Klug. Honorary pallbearers were Edwin Pomerenke, Milo Arvidson, Harvey Peterson, Eric Pomerenke, Brent Pomerenke and Charles Biel. Burial was at the church cemetery.
