Groon, she was born Dec 1 1885, at Alcester, SD, the daughter of the late Gerhart and Anna Groon. She moved to Akron as a young lady and came to Le Mars in 1940. She and Joseph Pollock were married Feb 4, 1914, at Merrill. Mrs. Pollock was a member of Christian Mother's society. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1947, two grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Edward (Esther) Koernich of Lesterville, SD, Mrs. Eugene (Ella) O'Hara of Sioux City, Mrs. Roman (Evelyn) Dreckman and Mrs. Robert (Josephine) Kluemper, both of Le Mars and Mrs. Marvin (Lillian) Neyens of Hinton; a sister, Mrs. Leona Nuttbrook of Rapid City, 12 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Private family burial services will be prior to the memorial service. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Wass Funeral Home in Alcester.
Mr. Groon was born Oct. 11, 1916, near Akron, Iowa, the son of J. Henry and Sophia (Fickbohm) Groon. He attended rural school.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1945 to 1946, where he worked on B-51, B-52 and AT-6 aircrafts.
He married Ardes Ekle on Aug. 23, 1942, in Las Vegas, Nev. In 1947, the couple moved to the Norway Center, S.D., area and farmed until 1971. She died Oct. 29, 1967. He married Velma Fickbohm on Feb. 14, 1971, in Alcester. The couple made their home in Alcester, where he was employed at various jobs including driving a school bus.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, where he was an elder and a youth counselor.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Marlene and her husband, Jim Fedderson, of Marshall, Minn., Carol Vojtisek of Wahpeton, N.D., and Joyce (Fickbohm) and her husband, Cal Hubregtse, of Lennox, S.D; five sons, David Groon of Sioux Falls, S.D., Steve Groon and his wife, Deb, of Volga, S.D., Robert Fickbohm and his wife, Barb, of Fremont, Neb., Delmar "Fudd" Fickbohm of Rapid City, S.D., and Douglas Fickbohm and his wife, Ann, of Yankton, S.D; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Emil and Irene of Arlington, S.D., and Gerald and Marcella of Chapel Hill, N.C; and four sisters, Bernice Johnson of Vermillion, S.D., Alvera and her husband, Richard Rosgaard, of Rock Valley, Iowa, and Melvina Aashei and Elaine and her husband, Albert Olson, all of Canton, S.D.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Klostergaard.
Pallbearers will be Ken Carlson, Art Peterson, Oscar Larson, Charles Hall, Bob Kroell, Morris Sommervold and Elmer and Walt Haltkamp.1

Gustav and Sophia (Larson) Satter. He attended Pleasant Ridge country school. He married Grace Kjose May 22, 1918 at the Lutheran parsonage in Vermillion. He served in the U.S. army during World War 1. He then
farmed near Spink until retiring in 1962. The couple moved into Alcester in 1986. Mrs. Satter died March 19, 1987. He entered Morningside Manor Aug. 29, 1991. Mr. Satter was a lifelong member of Brule Creek Lutheran church and
held various church offices. He was a member of World War I Barracks in Elk Point. Survivors include two sons, Eldon of Hawthorne, Calif., and Archie of Sioux Falls; two daughter, Mrs.
Clarence (Leone) Albin of Fountain Valley, Calif., and Mrs. William (Ardis) Leyman of Long Beach, Calif; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren;
three sisters, Betty Satter and Agnes Sawyer, both of Boise, Idaho, and Grace Pylman of
Sioux Falls. He was also preceded in death by
a son, Luverne; two brothers; three sisters; and a half-sister.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Wayne of Glasgow, Mont., and William Jr. of Akron; six sisters, Mrs. Perrie (Ellen) De Groote, Corwith, Mrs. Leland (Ida) Wilson, Cedar Rapids, Miss Ann Satter, Rochester, N.Y., Miss Elizabeth Satter and Mrs. Agnes Sawyer, both of Boise, Idaho, and Mrs. Grace Pylman, Sioux Falls; a brother, Lewis, Elk Point, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
