Phil was united in marriage to Verna King on June 4, 1966. He farmed, and later bartended, and worked at Gerber until his retirement. Phil enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Verna; his step-son, Kevin King; two brothers, William and Donald; a sister, Helen Gade; brothers-in-law, Arnold Gade, Ben, Art, and Walter Hess, Harry Daugs, Riley Robinson, and John McDonough; sisters-in-law, Lila Krey, Ella McDonough, Isabelle La Budda, Ardis Robinson, and Norma Daugs; niece, Susan Gade; nephew, Earl Krey; and special friend, Lucille Pfaff.

He is survived by his stepsons, Robin Terry King of San Antonio, Texas, and Roger (Barbara) King of Shawano; his stepdaughters, Kelli (Pat) Watson of White Bear Lake, Minn., and Kami (Bryan) Hansen of Fort Lewis, Wash; his step-great-grandchildren, Hannah and Corrine Watson; his brother, Robert (DeAn) Krey of River Falls; brothers-in-law, Ernie Hess of Mauston and Sam (Elaine) Hess of Wausau; sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Norman) Holtz of Reedsburg and Bernice Hess of Mauston; special friends, Charles and Linda Pfaff, Jim and Donna Pfaff of Rock Springs, and John and Cindy Pfaff of Sheboygan, and their families; nieces and nephews; along with other relatives and friends.

Helen was a 1937 graduate of Reedsburg High School. She graduated from Sauk County Normal School, and started teaching in the fall of 1939. Helen taught at Narrows Prairie School for six years. Together Arnold and Helen farmed in rural Rock Springs. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Reedsburg and its Golden Agers. She was an active supporter of the Loganville Friendship 4-H Club. Helen played cards for years for the neighborhood birthday/ anniversary card club, and was a member of the Rock Springs Community Card Club. Helen served on the Reedsburg Township election board for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, gardening and in her former years she enjoyed hunting and fishing. She is survived by her son, David (Diane) Gade of Rock Springs; her daughter, Diane (Ian Craig Jr.) Loram of Oregon, Wis; grandchildren, Angela Gade of Milwaukee, Elizabeth (Damien) Stevens of Baraboo, Rebecca Gade of Milwaukee, Anthony (Amanda) Meixelsperger of Minneapolis, Minn., and Margaret Loram of Oregon, Wis; brothers, Phillip Krey of Rock Springs, and Robert (De An) Krey of River Falls; sister-in-law, Evelyn (Norman) Holtz of Reedsburg; nieces and nephews, along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold; a daughter, Susan Gade; brothers, Donald Krey and William (Lila) Krey; a nephew, Earl Krey; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elva and Rollo Bryant. Funeral services for Helen Gade will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at ST. PETER'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH in Reedsburg with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating.     Mrs. Scheide of Lodi sang “Because” and “The Lord’s Prayer” at the ceremony. The Lohengrin and Mendellsohn wedding marches were played by Edwin Roever on the organ.

    The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Krey of Reedsburg. She wore a wedding gown of Japanese silk, made with a fitted bodice, which was worn by her mother at her wedding. With this, she wore a floor length veil and carried a bouquet of white mums, calla lilies and ferns.

    Mrs. Fred Stambough was her sister’s matron of honor and wore a formal gown of gold colored silk, with matching mitts and plume headdress. Lucille Brown was bridesmaid, and wore chartreuse fashioned in floor length style, with which she wore a matching plume headdress and white mitts. The bride’s attendants carried bouquets of white mums and pink rosebuds.

    The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Armin, as best man, and Burdette Lindeman, while Melvin Krey and Fred Stambough were the ushers

    Mrs. Krey wore a teal blue dress to her daughter’s wedding, while the groom’s mother wore navy blue. Both wore corsages of yellow and white pompoms and pink rosebuds.

    A reception for 55 guests was held in the church parlors following the ceremony. Fo;;owing a wedding trip to Chicago, the newlyweds are now at home to friends in Lodi.

    Mr. Leschsnsky formerly resided at Loyal, where he graduated from high school in 1935.

    The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
