Duane was a member of the Spring Green Rod and Gun Club, the Spring Green Lions Club, the River Valley Players, the Bloomin Buddies Garden Club and St. John's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Monica Radel of Spring Green; six children, Kim (Jeanine) Radel of Spring Green, Fred (Luanne) Radel of Spring Green, Vicki (Jay) Edwards of Nebraska, Kevin (LaDonna) Radel of Waunakee, Mary Jo (Roger) Halchin of North Carolina, and Cindy Radel; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Marlyn (Elizabeth) Radel of Spring Green; five sisters, Avalyn Stark of Madison, Elaine Schaefer of Normal, Ill., Joyce (Chester) Howard of Middleton, Eloise (William) Nicholson of Wisconsin Rapids, and Loraine (Cyril) Feiner of De Forest; a sister-in-law, Rosie Radel of Spring Green; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Stella Radel; a brother, Lloyd Radel; and a sister, Juan Johnson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Spring Green. Fr. Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made.

Melvin was a lifelong farmer of Bear Valley and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lone Rock. His greatest enjoyment throughout his life was his family, and friends. He lost the love of his life, Eileen, almost three years ago after 62 years. Survivors include; nine children, Thomas (Edith) Eberle of Lodi, Robert (Della) Eberle of Plain, Richard (fiancee, Heidi) Eberle of Dane, Rodney (Linda) Eberle of Lone Rock, Marilyn (Bob) Olson of Lone Rock, Duane (Bev) Eberle of Spring Green, Alan (Annette) Eberle of Spring Green, Kevin (Janeen) Eberle of Lone Rock, and Delores (Pete) Crook of Lone Rock; 36 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Mary (Steve) Ballweg of Prairie du Sac; a sister, Gladys Chaplitski of Baraboo; brother, Gene (Helen) Derrickson of Sauk City; six sisters-in-law, Eileen Eberle of Lone Rock, Marcella Faber of Richland Center, Mary Shields of Chula Vista, Calif., Imelda (Harold) McCarthy of Chilton, Sharon (Larry) Lampman of Newton, Kan., Colleen (Robert) Hargrave of Houston, Texas; five brothers-in-law, Norman (Marie) Faber of Richland Center, Father Emmett Faber of Bastrop, Texas, LaVern (Donna) Faber of Hazel Green, Jerry (Doris) Faber of Lone Rock, and Francis (Sue) Faber of McFarland; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Eberle; parents, Fred and Delia Eberle; a son, Ronald Eberle; a brother, Lawrence Eberle, two sisters, Elaine and Nancy Eberle; his mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Marie Faber; two brothers-in-law, John and Wayne Faber; and a sister-in-law, Genevieve Faber. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011, at 11 a.m. at ST. LUKE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Plain. Father Andre Panek and Father Mike Resop will concelebrate with burial in the St. Kilian's Catholic Cemetery in Bear Valley, following the luncheon. Visitation will be Thursday, June 23, 2011 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at St. Luke's Catholic Church and again on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at 6:15 p.m. at the RICHARDSON-STAFFORD FUNERAL HOME in Spring Green. Pastor Robert Fain will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
