Rose was a Mercy High School graduate and a “lifelong learner” who returned to college at Governors State University after retirement. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Homewood. Rose was employed by Amity Federal Savings and Loan, and later was a Vice President at H.F. Phillipsborn & Co. Rose had a passion for cooking Italian food for her family, bowling with her friends and singing, especially jazz standards and songs of her generation. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 5th from 3:00pm – 8:00pm at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Highway in Homewood. The funeral will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Homewood on Saturday, February 6th at 10:00am, with prayers beginning at 9:15am at Tews-Ryan Funeral Home. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery immediately following.

He had prior service as a director of the South Suburban Savings & Loan and as Honorary Life Trustee of the Glenwood School. He was an avid golfer and past president of the Flossmoor Country Club. His wife Marjorie, passed away in June 2010. Survivors include two sons, Ronald (Joan), Thomas (Susan), five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The memorial service will be private. Memorials may be sent to the Glenwood School.

He'll also be missed terribly by his extended family Billie and Nelson, Lou Gene and wife Judy, Tom and wife Nancy, The aviation field will miss his knowledge and expertise. He had answers for all his flying family. Carl was a WWII flight instructor and pilot and continued his flight life and instruction throughout his life establishing Colorado Springs East Airport and the Ellicott Flying Service. Through his years Carl logged thousands of miles and thousands of friends that will miss his integrity, love for life and hard working persistence. Carl Henry Susemihl 10/4/1919 - 2/3/2007, A very good man. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM, Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, and again on Wednesday, February 7, from 9 AM until 11 AM. Memorial Services will follow at 11 AM at Evergreen Funeral Home.
