There will be a prayer service on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain. Edna Gay Potter was born on August 8, 1908 to Oscar Laemer and Detta Gay (Loomis) Potter in Alexandria, SD. Edna was the eleventh child born in the family. The Potters moved from Alexandria to Kimball in Brule County and settled on a farm. In the years to follow, four more children were born, making a total of 15 children in the Potter family. Edna attended one year of rural school south of Kimball. The family moved to Chamberlain in 1916. Edna attended Chamberlain school and graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1927. Edna loved music. She took piano lessons, violin lessons, and accordion lessons. She played the violin in the high school orchestra for four years. She also sang in the Glee Club. Throughout her life in Chamberlain, Edna participated in community activities and belonged to numerous organizations. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 69 years. Edna is a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and also the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Edna taught Sunday school for 35 years, serving as Superintendent of Sunday School at the same time. Edna also belonged to card clubs and was on bowling teams in the community. Edna worked as a secretary-bookkeeper for the State Department of Social Services until her husband went into business for himself. Then she resigned to become his secretary. Edna married Ralph A. Holstein of Chamberlain on September 17, 1939. Together, they owned and operated the Holstein Motor Company on Main Street. They sold Studebaker, Packard, and Mercedes Benz cars, as well as farm implements. Ralph passed away on December 4, 1963. Edna and Ralph liked to do outdoor activities such as hunting deer, pheasants, and geese. They fished along the Missouri River. They had their own boat and a pontoon also. Edna passed away on October 8, 2010 at the Aurora Brule Nursing Home in White Lake, SD at the age of 102 years. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Edna was the last surviving member of the 15 Potter children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and all her siblings.

At the time Elsa married James Lothrop, he was a widower with four young children. She wrote a wonderful book about the incredible challenges of suddenly being a mother of four at the age of 23. The book is called "I Married Four Children" and was published in 1954. Elsa and James also had two children of their own, James Jr. and Charles "Chuck".

Robert Arthur Frazier Sr. died on 23 June 2015 at Virginia at age 96 Robert Arthur Frazier was the son of Lois Pfaffle and Arthur Frazier of Boise, Idaho where he was raised. He was married 60 years to Margaret Lutgring of Tell City, Indiana and they had four sons in Washington DC - Robert, Gary, Gene and Gregory. He graduated the University of Idaho just before WW II and joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During his 34 years with the FBI he was the principal firearms examiner for many crimes including the assassination of John F Kennedy, Robert F Kennedy and Martin Luther King. He testified at length during the Warren Commission hearings.

After leaving the Bureau he continued to perform firearms analyses for the Northern Virginia Crime Lab and was a regular consultant for Sturm-Ruger Firearms, Inc.

He was an outdoor enthusiast who loved fishing, hunting and camping. He is survived by three sons, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom dearly loved him.

Visitation took place on June 26 at Murphy Funeral Home, Falls Church, VA. Funeral service followed. Graveside service was on June 27 at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD.

They have two children, Phyllis and Earl.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond, her children Phyllis and Earl and daughter in law Ali, two grandchildren Eric and Robyn, her brother, Eddie Grettenberg, nephew, Steve Grettenberg, both of Iowa, four great nieces and great-great nieces and nephews including recent triplets.
