Death13 September 1955Emma Augusta Tessmer died on 13 September 1955 at Sauk, Wisconsin, at age 72 Mrs Emma Augusta Schneider (nee Tessmer) was born December 14, 1882, in the town of Excelsior, Sauk county, Wisconsin the daughter of Carl Tessmer arid his wife Augusta nee Retzlaff. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and remained a lifelong member of St John's church in Rock Springs. On November 1, 1911, she was united in marriage with Charles Schneider. This union was blessed with two daughters Viola and Eleanor. The family lived on a farm in Excelsior until 1947 when they moved to Reedsburg. Her husband preceded her in death on April 13, 1948. She continued to make her home in Reedsburg but spent the winter months with her daughter Mrs. Raymond Klinefelter in Milwaukee. She had been in fairly good health until she became ill Sunday September 11. She passed away suddenly at 9:30 Tuesday morning September 13 at the home of her daughter Mrs Ervin Reinfeldt in Reedsburg. She attained the age of 72 years, eight months and 30 days. She was a devoted wife and a kind and loving mother always willing to help her family and friends and will be sadly missed by them. She leaves to mourn her loss her two daughters, four grandchildren (Helen) Mrs Paul Pawllsch, Donald Reinfeldt, Dorothy and Gerald Klinefelter, two brothers Otto Tessmer of Tomah and August Tessmer of Tampa, Florida and many other relatives and friends. Two brothers Edward and Carl preceded her in death. Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 16, 1955 at 2 at St Lutheran church, Rock Springs, with Rev A Seigler officiating. Pallbearers were Reinhold Retzlaff, Adolph Krueger, Rollo Bryant, Roger Schneider, Paul Bettman and Evan ???. Burial was in the Rock Springs cemetery.
