"Chuck" Peterson, 58, Reedsburg, died Sunday evening, Sept. 7, 2003, in the Reedsburg Area Medical Center following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on March 27, 1945, in Reedsburg, the son of Robert and Amanda (nee Friede) Peterson. Chuck was a 1963 graduate of Webb High School. On April 30, 1966, he married the former Sharon L. Potter. He worked for his father at Friede Brothers for some time. He then worked as a heavy equipment operator. Chuck also owned and operated his own businesses for many years. He served in the National Guard for 11 years; was a member of the Reedsburg Fire Department for 34 years and the Reedsburg Ambulance Service for 28 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; two daughters, Wendy Peterson, Reedsburg, and Nicole (Steve) Dempsey, Reedsburg; three grandchildren, Brooke, Brittany and Hunter; his sister, Bonnie (Calvin) Gilbertson, Oregon; two sisters-in-law, Roxanne Potter, Reedsburg, and Dawn Potter, Reedsburg; a special friend, Andrew Roblez, Loganville; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Rev. Ronald Rasmussen officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated.1

The Rev. George Tiefel, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran church, Stambaugh, conducted services Monday morning at the Buchanan Funeral home for Fred F. Rogers, 73, a long time resident of Iron River, who died at his home on West U.S. 2 after an illness of four months.
Rogers came here in 1910 and entered the plumbing and heating business and later conducted a saloon until the prohibition period. He leaves his widow, Ann, three sisters, Mrs. R.A. Moore, Madison, Wis., and Dora and Elsie, Milwaukee and four brothers, William, Madison, and Charles, Elmer, and Robert, whose present addresses are unknown. The body was taken to Reedsville [Reedsburg], Wis., Mrs. Rogers' former home for burial.

Martin was single. Martin finished parochial school and was confirmed at St. John's Luth. Church, Reedsburg, Wisconsin in 1911. When he was a young man, Martin was the member of a threshing crew that worked in Minnesota. He bought a sawmill and did custom sawing in Reedsburg for about 15 years. He then moved his rig to Lake Delton, Wisconsin, and continued for an additional 5 years. Martin also did threshing and corn shredding with equipment that he owned, for local farmers.6

Emil attended elementary school in Reedsburg during his youth and enlisted in the US Army in Nov. 1942. He was stationed at Camp Beal in California and worked in the Post Office. He attained the grade of Tech. 5, and was discharged in Oct. of 1945. He managed a lumber yard at Badger Ordinance Works near Baraboo, Wisconsin for 10 years and was a bartender in Reedsburg for a number of years. He retired in 1972. Emil was a member of the Eagles Club, the 40 et 8, American Legion and various other clubs. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, coin collecting and beach combing. He loved the Florida beaches and the seashore with its ever changing moods. He and his wife traveled there often. Mary is retired from the Hankscraft, Corp. of Reedsburg, and lives in Reedsburg.5

He was born October 22, 1913 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, the son of Wilhelm and Ida (nee Schrank) Schuette. Bill grew up in Reedsburg where he attended elementary school and one year of high school. On November 15, 1940, he married Lyda Stolte at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Loganville. When he was a young man, Bill worked for four years at the sawmill owned and operated by his brother, Martin. He then worked at the creamery in Reedsburg for two years, after which he moved with his family to the farm of his father-in-law, Carl Stolte, where he worked as a hired hand for four years. In 1948, Bill bought a farm near Loganville. There he farmed and raised his family along with his wife, Lyda. His son, Gerald took over the farm in 1970. After retiring from farming, Bill worked for two years in general construction for Friede Brothers Construction; and for an additional two years for Harms Cabinets & Millwork in Reedsburg. He retired around 1975. Bill was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He also served on the Board of Directors of Wisconsin Dairies. Bill was an avid fisherman all his life, both in summer and ice fishing during the winter. He also liked to hunt, play cards, and listen to music. Bill leaves behind his wife, Lyda of 66 years. Their children include, William Schuette of Loganville, Betty Kintz of Port Orchard, Washington, Gerald (Donna) Schuette of Loganville, David Schuette (deceased), Nancy Schuette (Don Morton) of Madison, Kenneth (Carla) Schuette of Lake Zurich, Illinois, Patsy (Marty) McCluskey of Hillpoint; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Frieda Hrabovsky and Mata Mahar; four brothers, Martin, Edmund, Otto, Emil; and a son, David. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Christopher Miller officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 4 until 8 p.m. on Monday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Memorials to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Loganville would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home, Reedsburg, is serving the family.

He also likes to hunt and play cards.After moving to their new home, Lyda went to work at the Tasti King Restaurant in Reedsburg. She then worked at the Snyder Nursing Home in Reedsburg as a Housekeeper until she retired in December 1985. She enjoys sewing and working in her garden. William and Lyda live in the home that they built near Loganville.4

Robert was born to Joseph and Frieda (Schuette) Hrabovsky on February 16, 1929, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Upon graduating from Reedsburg High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country for 25 years with deployments to the Philippine Islands, Korea and Viet Nam. During his Air Force career, where Robert was a teacher and administrator of the technical schools, he received many awards, including the Bronze Star and the United States Meritorious Award. During this time, Robert also met the love of his life, Ms. Diana Flynt, of Nocona, Texas. They spent over 60 years together raising a family and volunteering in their community.
Upon completion of his Air Force Service, Robert went on to complete his education and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master’s Degree in Education from Midwestern University. He then spent the next 15 years teaching in the WFISD at Hirschi High School and Barwise Junior High School, where he was honored with several awards in teaching from the West Foundation. Robert had a passion for teaching and concentrated his efforts on initiating the LEAD science program while teaching classes in earth, life and physical sciences.
Robert was a lifetime member of the DAV and the Texas Retired Teachers Association, and a volunteer at Interfaith Ministries. He was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he held a number of offices including elder, president of the congregation and Sunday school superintendent and teacher.
Along with his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his sister, and his loving wife, Diana, who passed away on March 2, 2016.
He is survived by his two daughters, Diana Kathleen Hrabovsky of Arlington, Texas, and Suzanne Hrabovsky of Ennis, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.

She was born on November 7, 1921, the daughter of Otto and Dorothy Strampe. On July 12, 1948, Mary was united in marriage to Emil H. Schuette. Emil and Mary shared 30 years of marriage until he preceded her in death August 19, 1978. Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reedsburg. She was employed at Badger Ammunition and then Hankscraft/Gerber until she retired. Mary had a love of travel and enjoyed many trips to Louisiana and Florida, where she loved combing the beaches to find shells. Mary took many pictures of her travels and loved to share them with others through slideshows and home movies. She also enjoyed making crafts with seashells, sewing, gardening, and watching birds on her many backyard feeders.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Dorothy Strampe; her husband Emil; and her special friend Everett Gates.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews; many friends including Marge Traeder, Dave and Judy Hon, and their families.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary A. Schuette will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reedsburg. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church where the Rosary will be prayed at 9:45 AM. Memorials of remembrance may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in lieu of flowers.

She was born in Washington Township December 1, 1917, daughter of Carl and Anna (nee Schlieckau), Stolte. Lyda grew up in Washington Township where she attended Tuckertown elementary school. On November 15, 1940, she married William F. Schuette at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Loganville. They lived on the Carl Stolte farm, with Lyda's parents near Hillpoint. In 1948 Bill and Lyda bought a farm near Loganville. There they farmed until 1970, when their son, Gerald, took over the farm. In 1971, they built a new home on one corner of the farm. Lyda was a life-long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Loganville. She was an avid seamstress and loved sewing. When her church began providing quilts to overseas missions, she sewed quilt squares together for that project. Lyda liked gardening and enjoyed the outdoors. She was a member of St. Peter's WELCA and assisted with funeral luncheons for 20 years. After retiring from farming, she worked at the Taste King and Snyder Nursing Home for 14 years. Lyda then did volunteer work at the Reedsburg Hospital and Health Care Center. She belonged to the Homemakers Club for 40 years, and was an active leader in 4-H. Lyda's children include, William Schuette of Loganville, Betty Kintz of Shelton, WA, Gerald (Donna) Schuette (deceased), David Schuette (deceased), Nancy Schuette of Madison, Kenneth (Carla) Schuette of Lake Zurich, Ill, and Patsy (Marty) McCluskey of Hillpoint. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband William; her parents; sisters, Hilda Wiese, Martha Wiese, Esther Thieding, and brother, Ervin Stolte, and sons, David and Gerald. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at ST. PETER'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, Loganville, with Pastor Christopher Miller officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, at HOOF FUNERAL HOME, Reedsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Loganville, would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home, Reedsburg is serving the family.

Jerry was a lifelong farmer in the Township of Westfield and also a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Jerry was a servant of the land who enjoyed being in the out of doors, nature, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Donna; his mother: Lyda Schuette, of Reedsburg; two daughters: Deborah (Curt) Justman, of Hartford and Dani (Matt) Scott, of Reedsburg; four grandchildren: Caleb, Casey, J.T. and Abbie; two brothers: William Schuette, of Reedsburg and Kenneth (Carla) Schuette, of Lake Zurich, IL; three sisters: Betty Kintz, and her special friend, George, of Lacey, WA; Nancy Schuette, of Madison and Patsy (Marty) McCluskey, of Hillpoint; his mother-in-law: Doris Walker, of Wisconsin Rapids; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; his brother: David Schuette and his father-in-law: Harold Walker. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Christopher Miller officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Klitzke, age 88, of Reedsburg, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center surrounded by his family. He was born on March 28, 1928 in Reedsburg, the son of William F. and Edna (Schrank) Klitzke. Willie was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army. He was honored to have been awarded with the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. On June 11, 1955, he was married to the former Evaline I. Craker. Willie was a lifelong area farmer and also worked at Grede Foundry. He was accessor for the Town of Dellona for several years. Willie was a member of the Reedsburg VFW and a lifelong member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church where he served on the school board for many years. He was very proud to have been able to participate in the Badger Honor Flight with his son, Dan. Willie enjoyed throwing horseshoes, dancing and bowling. Survivors include his wife, Evaline; four children: Cindy (Vernon) Lippert, of Austin, MN; Marcia (Rodney) Sonnenberg, of Reedsburg; Dan (Sally) Klitzke, of Reedsburg and Julie (Rick) Miotke, of Reedsburg; ten grandchildren; one AFS granddaughter; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters: Lorna Slaney, of Reedsburg and LaVera (Marlan) Craker, of Reedsburg; one brother: Rupert (Delores) Klitzke, of Janesville; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law: Mike Ross; his sister: Elaine (Ray) Newbury; his brother: Alvin (Vicki) Klitzke and his brother-in-law: Maurice Slaney. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery with military rites provided by the Reedsburg Veterans Honor Guard. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg and after 10:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church. Memorials to St. Peter's Lutheran Church or the Reedsburg VFW would be appreciated. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Vicky of 54 years; his daughter, Bonnie and Charles Eastman of Madison, WI; his son, Joey Klitzke of Baraboo, WI; and his son, Gregg and Terry (Birch) Klitzke of Baraboo, WI; five grandchildren, Amanda (William) Schmidt, Scott (Corrin) Maier, Casey Klitzke, Maverick Klitzke and Tristen Klitzke; and four great-grandchildren, Connor and Natalie Schmidt, and Owen and Addison Maier. He is also survived by his brother, William and Evaline Klitzke; his sister, Lorna and Maurice Slaney; his sister, La Vera and Marlan Craker all of Reedsburg, WI; his brother, Rupert and Delores Klitzke of Janesville, WI; and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Baraboo with Pastors Deb and Steve Ohrtman officiating. Burial followed where military rites were provided by the Baraboo Veterans Honor Guard. There was an Elks Service held at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at UW Hospital Neurology ICU for their loving care.

The following 30 years he worked as a Consignee for the Cities Service Gas Station in Reedsburg. Leo served several years on the Reedsburg Police and Fire Commission. He also had a dance band most of his life and played in the Sauk County Circus Band.5

daughters, Deborah, Patricia and Kathy.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; three daughters, Deborah Chapman of
South Bend, Patricia (Steve) Barnes of Bay City, Mich., and Kathy Kubiak of
South Bend; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and by a sister, Lorna
DaMaedg.
Mrs. Kubiak was a member at the Ladies VFW Auxiliary Post 1167 and the Marine
Corp. Auxiliary of South Bend. She worked at St. Joseph County Library.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home with Rev. Sam Boys
officiating.
