She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She was born April 15, 1927 in Morgan County, Missouri, the daughter of Hartley L. and Myrtle Hibdon Sidebottom. She was united in marriage on May 29, 1944 with Charles Alton Tunis, who preceded her in death on February 12, 2000. Mrs. Tunis worked for Cargill Inc, was a homemaker and member of Family Worship Center in Versailles. She is survived by two daughters, Linda L. Parker and Mary J. Stewart, both of Stover; three sons, William H. Tunis of Seattle, Washington, Lemual C. Tunis of California State, and Jesse L. Tunis of Versailles; one sister, Lillian Smothers of Independence; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son Harold R. Tunis, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with Pastor Danny Owsley officiating.
