Mrs. Aretta Kemplin, who died on Aug. 2, 1948, Mrs. Lillie May Hayes of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Wilfred Wallace of North Platte, Nebr., Milfred Robert of Alliance, Nebr., Alfred James of Minatare, Nebr.. Mrs. Bernice Ethel Bowling ' of Bluff City, Tenn., Mrs. Daisy Marie Richardson ot Grand Island, Nebr., Mrs. Deloris Lane of Arthur County, Delfred Jason, Patsy Lou, Norma Jean and Alice Faye at home. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by 22 grand children and two sisters, Mrs. Charlie Rowe of Colo, and Mrs. Chattie Wright of Hyannis, Nebr. There are three brothers, Lee Starkey of Concordia, Kansas, Cliff Starkey of Keystone, Nebr. and Charlie Starkey of Ogallala, Nebraska besides a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Starkey was an old time resident of the Sandhills and will be greatly missed by his many friends. He was a good father, husband and neighbor. Intensely interested in community and public life, his place will be hard to fill. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the family in this hour of sorrow. Funeral Services were held from the Congregational Church in Ogallala on July 5th, 1949, with Rev. Stanley Malmgren - of Antelope Center, officiating. The Stones were in charge and serving as pall bearers were: Steve Wil-so, Walter Wilson, Charlie Wilson, Roy Merrill, Oral Lane and Frank Lane. Interment was in the Ogallala cemetery.
