Mrs. Rice worked in tax preparation and was self-employed. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing, crafts, ceramics, knitting, crocheting and many other crafts. She attended Keyport Bible Church.

Her sister, Leona Hildreth, preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Donna Lane and her husband, Steve, of Poulsbo and Joan Vicory of Illinois; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was born on May 31, 1926, in Cuba City, Wis., son of George and Eleanor (Auraden) Hamilton, a birthday he shared with his youngest daughter, Jennifer.

Clarence served as a Seaman 1st Class in the Armed Guard in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific. He received the Victory Ribbon for the Philippine Liberation.

He married the mother of his four children, Ella Heacock, on Christmas Day in 1948. On Aug. 7, 1970, he married Lou May O'Reilly in Freeport, Ill.

Clarence worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for 28 1/2 years, until his retirement in 1988.

He was a member of St. Raphael's Cathedral, U.A.W. Local 94 and the John Deere Retirees. He was also a retiree of the Dubuque Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Bud was a handyman, carpenter and bulldog lover. He loved music, building birdhouses and the many beautiful stained glass projects he crafted over the years. Bud enjoyed playing cards and traveling across the country in their RV with Lou and his beloved bulldog, Sunshine I. He was an easy-going, nice man. His blue eyes, smile and "rooster call" will be missed. Dad loved his family, and we will always cherish his special memories.

Surviving are his wife, Lou May Hamilton, of San Benito, Texas; his children, David Hamilton, of Dubuque, Terry (Judy) Hamilton, of Powder Springs, Ga., Nancy Hamilton and Jennifer Hamilton, both of Whitelaw, Wis; four grandchildren, Michael, Lisa and Sylvia, all of Georgia, and David, of Dubuque; three great-granddaughters, Hailey, Olivia and Emma, all of Georgia; a brother-in-law, Earl Whittle, of Prairie Du Chien, Wis; his stepsons, Sean (Frances) O'Reilly, of Rockwall, Texas, and Brian O'Reilly, of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his dog, Sunny III, who resides with his daughters, Nancy and Jennifer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Ella, in 2000; two sisters, Florence Steffan, in 2009, and Ruth Whittle, in 2010; a brother-in-law, Ralph Steffan, in 2010; a daughter-in-law, Bobbie O'Reilly; and many aunts, uncles and relatives. He also was preceded in death by his two English bulldogs, Sunny I in 1998 and Sunny II in 2004.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, at Our Lady of Peace Chapel at Bishop Drumm Care Center, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Rosemary was born on February 10, 1925, in Dubuque, Iowa to Joseph and Lillian (Winter) Rupp. She was the oldest of five children. Rosemary graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque. She married John M. Larkin on August 13, 1949 in Dubuque Iowa. She was a stay at home mother for several years and then joined Sears in the catalog department. Rosemary worked her way to be the manager of the department and went onto work in the Credit Central where she retired after 26 years.

Rosemary was the mother of four children, Michael (Rosemary) Larkin, Patricia (Greg) Jurgens, Mark (Judi) Larkin and Susan Larkin, she has 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Rosemary was a volunteer her whole life and a member of the Rosary Society at St. Theresa parish. She later volunteered at the McAuley Terrace, part of Bishop Drumm. She loved her many friends at her home in McAuley Terrace and her special relationship with Robert “Bob” Jackson.

Rosemary is survived by her brother Thomas (Anne) Rupp of Loveland, Colorado, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John and three siblings.

The family will receive friends from 3 - 5 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at Iles-Westover Chapel where a vigil service will be held at 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Bishop Drumm Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Margaret Rupp, and her brother, John Rupp. She was also tragically preceded in death by her son, David Allen Gardner. Jeanne will also be sadly missed by her 6 grandchildren: her son Stephen's three children, Jessica, Zachary, and Courtney Gardner; her daughter Ann's 2 son's, Alexander and Joseph Roehrkasse, and her late son David's only child, Matthew David Gardner. She is also survived by her sister, Rosemary (Rupp) Larkin of Des Moines, IA, and her brother, Thomas Rupp (Anne) of Fort Collins, CO. The hallmark of Jeanne's life was her devotion to her family and to her Catholic faith. She attended mass daily at Christ the King Catholic Church in South Bend where she had served on the parish counsel and volunteered countless hours to various school and church activities. During her children's school years at Christ the King she began volunteering in the school office and went on to be employed as the school secretary and then the parish bookkeeper for a number of years. After retiring from work in the rectory, she continued to voluntarily assist retired clergy at Holy Cross House at Notre Dame. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 Indiana 933, South Bend at 10 A.M. on Friday, December 28, 2012. Visitation will be held at the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN, on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M.

Al was born in Georgetown, Illinois on September 9, 1922 to Elsie and Wilburt Gardner. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving as a Bomber Pilot in WWII. After the war he studied on the GI Bill earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana. While traveling for his employer of 34 years, Bendix Aeronautics in South Bend, he met Jeanne E. Rupp in Dubuque, IA and was married there on July 13, 1957. Al and Jeanne were the loving parents of 4 children and he is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Carol (Al Jepson), formerly of Birchwood, WI, who cared for him ever since the death of his wife Jeanne in 2012. He is further survived by his son, Stephen Gardner (Laurel) of Hardeeville, South Carolina; daughter, Ann Gardner-Roehrkasse (Robert) of Pewaukee, WI; and daughter-in-law, Marcia (Mackey) Gardner of Minneapolis, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert Gardner (Mary) of Bradenton, FL; his sisters, Norma Palmer (Dwight) and Dorothy Ann Wilson (Chester) both of Danville, IL; and his son-in-law, Alan Jepson.
