She was born on June 18, 1949 in Reedsburg to Willard and Adeline (Schultz) Licht. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Loganville and it was her faith that kept her spiritually strong and positive throughout this fight. She was a 1967 graduate of Webb High School and was the first in her family to go to college earning her R.N. degree from St. Mary’s School of Nursing - Madison in 1970. She was united in marriage to Harlan Thieding on June 27, 1970 at St. Peter’s in Loganville and together they celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2020.

Roberta spent a few years working at the Reedsburg Hospital before staying home to care for their three children and work on the farm, first jointly farming with her sister and brother-in-law then moving to their own farm in 1984. Together they also fostered 7 children over a 6-year period. She was actively involved in Zion Lutheran Stone Church serving as a Sunday School teacher, member of the choir, Ladies’ Aid and church council. She also participated in the Elder Ridge Homemaker’s group for many years. Once her children were grown, she returned to nursing with the Reedsburg Physician’s Group for over 20 years. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and watching them achieve their many milestones in life, even being present for Eli’s birth.

Roberta is survived by her loving and devoted husband: Harlan; children: Lisa (Greg) Schulenberg of Pittsboro, IN, Todd Thieding of Loganville and Sara (Leon) Zinck of Dane; her four grandchildren: Nick & Megan Schulenberg, Eli & Callie Zinck; three sisters: Marie Bryan of Kanarraville, UT, Jan (Dave) Towne of Mount Pleasant, IA and Terri (Rob) Tomaszewski of Montello; brothers-in-law: Ernie Thieding of McFarland and Roy (Annetta) Thieding of Colwich, KS. many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws: Ernest & Agnes Thieding and sister-in-law: Sharon Thieding.

Visitation is Monday, July 19th from 4:00 – 7:30 pm at the HOOF FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be conducted at Zion Lutheran Stone Church in Westfield Township on Tuesday, July 20th at 11:30 am with visitation prior at 10:30 am. Interment immediately following in the Zion Cemetery.

Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, working with her flowers and playing cards. Survivors include her husband, Eugene; two daughters, Diane (Dick) Falk, of Sun Prairie and Patti (Carl) Fortner, of Mukwonago; one granddaughter, Kristyn Fortner; five brothers and sisters: Marie (Erich) Westedt, of Loganville, Verne Jr. (Adeline) Trachsler, of Baraboo, Betty Oetzman, of Loganville, Duane Trachsler, of Plain and Faye (Blaine) Tourdot, of Reedsburg; many beloved nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Baraboo; his daughter, Kim (Bruce) Ardelt of Tomah; two grandchildren, Jonathan Ardelt of Madison and Katie Ardelt of Tomah; four sisters, Marie (Eric) Westedt of Loganville, Betty Oetzman of Loganville, Helen (Eugene) Luedtke and Faye (Blaine) Tourdot both of Reedsburg; two brothers, Verne (Adeline) Trachsler Jr. of Baraboo, and Duane Trachsler of Plain. She was born on Nov. 13, 1921, in Washington Township, Sauk County, the daughter of Reinhold and Emma (nee Schenck) Muchow. On Jan. 19, 1941, Sarah married Edward E. Meyer at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. This marriage was blessed with five children. After her marriage, Sarah was employed at the Badger Ammunition Plant and later as a cashier at Kroger's Grocery Store in Reedsburg. She started the hot lunch program at St. Peter's School and worked there for many years. She was also later employed at Meyer Oil as the office manager. Sarah was a member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church where she served on the Ladies Aid for many years. She was also a member of the LWML and was active in several Bible studies. Sarah was a former Chairwoman of the Reedsburg Fire Department Auxiliary where she was instrumental in starting the Annual Spaghetti Supper. Sarah enjoyed crocheting, sewing and quilting. She loved to cook and bake, and had a special interest in fishing and playing cards. She is survived by her husband, Edward Meyer, Reedsburg; children and their spouses, Rev. Dr. Ronald and Lou Ann Meyer, New Berlin, Geraldine and Rev. John Ehlke, Spring Valley, Cal., Shirley and Allen Piepenbrink, Menomonee Falls, Gloria and Bruce Darnall, Lake Mills, Rosalie and Rev. Dr. Timm Griffin, New Berlin; 17 grandchildren, Rev. Friends called on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Farber Funeral Home and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials of remembrance may be made to St. Peter's Church Workers Scholarship Fund. The Farber Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.

Repka at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Reedsburg. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage. This marriage was blessed with one son, Leslie.

Through the years, Ella babysat neighborhood children; to them, she was known as Grandma Ella, which she loved. Ella was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Springs, serving in various positions, including Ladies Aid. She enjoyed baking, quilting, and crafting, and most of all, enjoyed playing cards with her family and many friends. Family was very important to Ella and always cherished the time spent together.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton on December 22, 2008; brother, Arlie (Dolores) Muchow; sister, Sarah (Edward) Meyer; nieces, Rita Repka, Joan (McFarlane) Hanson; great-niece, Emily Griffin; brothers-in-law, Walter Repka, Paul McFarlane; sister-in-law, Gladys (Fred) Putz; mother and father-in-law, John and Clara Repka.

Ella is survived by her son, Leslie and Joan Stevens-Repka of Rock Springs;

Grandchildren: Jessie (Mike) Hunter of Pickett, WI; great granddaughters, Emily and Catherine Hunter;

Grandson, Luke (Jenna) Repka, of LaValle; great grandchildren, Alice, Diamond and Tanner;

Granddaughter Rebecca (Terry) Curtis of Cuba City, WI; great grandson, Evan;

Grandchildren, Brandy Koehler and Carmen Stevens-Repka, of Rock Springs;

We celebrate Ella’s life with a service at 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Springs, with Pastor David Karow officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, rural Rock Springs. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, and on Thursday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Rock Springs in lieu of flowers.
