He was born on June 11th, 1933, at his family home in Loganville; the son of Edwin E. and Minnie (Schulte) Kruse. Edward was a 1951 graduate of Reedsburg High School. On August 2nd, 1955, he was united in marriage to Donna Fae (Giese). Edward was a true farmer whom continued the Kruse family operation through a Century Farm celebration. He was passionate about his field work, Holstein cows, spotted swine, and especially his family. He used and collected Oliver tractors. From 1957 to 1959 Edward served in the U.S. Army. From the 60's-80's he served on the board of D.H.I.A., Holstein Breeders, Swine Breeders, Pork Producers of Sauk County, and Sauk County Farm Bureau. He also served as President of the WI Spotted Swine Breeders Association. Although he enjoyed helping the local community by serving on the above committees; he was most at home on an Oliver tractor, in the field, tending to the farm. Life didn't need to be complicated, treat others fairly and you will receive fairness in return. Survivors include his wife, Donna Fae; their children: Sharon Glade, Scott Kruse, Keith (Arlis) Kruse, Mark (Heidi) Kruse; several grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Rosemary Slick, and Jean Engel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 19th, 2018, at Emanuel United Methodist Church, 101 14th St., Baraboo with Pastor Blake Overlien officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Loganville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 18th, from 4-7 P.M. at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg, and after 10 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or a charity of choice. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family. |

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Tom. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Donald Glanzer officiating. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Raymond. Evelyn was born on March 23, 1921 in the Township of Freedom, Sauk County, the daughter of Walter and Clara (Quandt) Schmidt. She was baptized in her faith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ableman. Evelyn attended Maple Leaf School for eight years. She graduated from the one-room rural school, North Freedom High School and the Sauk County Teacher's College. Evelyn taught in the one-room country schools in Sauk County. In 1949, the Rock Elm School, where she taught, had the honor of winning first place in the contest for naming the most historic people who helped in forming our state. On June 8, 1946, Evelyn married Raymond H. Thies in St. John's Lutheran Church in Ableman. Ableman then changed its name to Rock Springs in 1947. This union was blessed with two daughters. The family enjoyed farming and country living. In October 1986, Raymond and Evelyn moved to Reedsburg. Over the years, Evelyn enjoyed being a member of the Rock Elm Homemakers and together with Ray enjoyed the Reedsburg Senior Citizens and the Badger Club. Over the years, Evelyn enjoyed maintaining her vegetable and flower gardens, handicrafts, genealogy, traveling and card playing. She also enjoyed her family and grandson. Evelyn always looked forward to visits with the family pugs especially the black pug, Precious, and the family cats. Survivors include her two daughters: Marjean (Daniel) Breunig, of LaCrosse and Christine Thies, of Milwaukee; her special grandson: Anton Breunig; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Raymond, on October 14, 1996 and her parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Donald Glanzer officiating. She enjoyed horses, traveling, sewing and karate. Since 1974, Sharol has been a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Survivors include her husband: Eugene; her two sons and their wives: D. Lyle (Anna) Setwyn, and their son, Eugene Jace Anthony Setwyn II, of Reno, Nevada and Denis Joseph (Julia) Setwyn, and their daughters, Linea Amidala Setwyn and Sonja Ann Setwyn, of Eau Claire; along with her twin sister: Carol Rohde, of Reedsburg; one niece: Judene Chestnut; three nephews: Richard, Pat and Shannon Rohde; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother: Dean Frank Rohde, of DuBoise, Wyoming. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Steven Neyhart officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Death | 2 February 2018 | Marie Blau died on 2 February 2018 at age 98 Marie Mead, age 98 of Reedsburg, died peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2018 in the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center. She was born on February 24, 1919, the daughter of Albert and Nellie (Heiser) Blau. She attended St. Luke's Catholic school in Plain. She lived at home with her parents until the time of her marriage to Rollin Mead on June 8, 1937 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Plain. They farmed in the Sandusky area until moving to Reedsburg in 1951. Employed at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center for seventeen years, Marie continued her interest in the healthcare field as a life member and volunteer for many years at the Sauk County Health Care Center. She was an active member of the Reedsburg Senior Citizens and the Reedsburg Historical Society. Marie was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church faith community, the Council of Catholic Women, Catholic Daughters of the America's Court Sacred Heart 960 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 350. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and traveling; but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her children: William (Rita) Mead, Reedsburg, Verllin (Carol) Mead, Racine, Rollene (Michael) Marslender, Stevens Point, and Geralyn (Jimmie) Dauti, Reedsburg; eight grandchildren; James (Rachelle) Mead, Lisa (Mark) Greenwood, Dawn (Raphael) Hukai, David (Tammy) Mead, Justin (Sarah) Marslender, Brian (Elise) Klicko, Brad (Shauna Marie) Klicko, and Jenna (Al Held) Klicko; step grandchildren; Benny and Genti Dauti; fifteen great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollin, in 1987 and by her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg with Father David Carrano officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg where the parish rosary will be prayed at 5:00 P.M. There will also be a visitation after 10:30 A.M. on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Reedsburg Hospital Auxiliary, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Reedsburg Public Library. The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family. |

He was born on December 21, 1975 in Reedsburg, the son of Rollie Neumann and Carole (Zobel) Neumann. Curt was a 1994 graduate of Weston High School and he also graduated from MATC with a degree in Recreational Management. He was employed at Sand Ridge Correctional Facility as a correctional officer. Curt was an incredibly talented landscape artist and shared his gift with many in the twelve years he worked for Big John's Landscaping. He was also the owner of Neumann's Bar in Hill Point and thoroughly enjoyed being around his many friends there. Curt had an infectious laugh and smile that lit up any room. He loved fishing with his brothers, the Milwaukee Brewers and the time he spent with Summer Thompson. Curt was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed. Survivors include his mother: Carole Neumann (Mark Muchow), of Hill Point; his father: Rollie Neumann (Sharon Schulte) of Hill Point; three brothers: Craig (Yvonne) Neumann, of Hill Point; Corey (Dana) Neumann, of Reedsburg and Chad (Liz) Neumann, of Cedar Hill, MO; nephews and niece: Cody, Colton, Shelby, Carter and Croye Neumann; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Ray and Carolyn Zobel; and his paternal grandparents: Pete and Helen Neumann. Private family services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hill Point with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Survivors include three siblings: Wilma (Don) Ennis, of Reedsburg; Lloyd Gudenschwager, of Missouri and Lois Hinze, and her special friend, Ed Grinder, of Reedsburg; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Janet Manville. A graveside service with military honors will be held at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg. Scott also survived by his step mother: Judy Johansen; stepdaughter: Jordan Borcher, step brothers: Tim (Jean) Snyder, Tom (Carla) Snyder and Jay (Lori Vieth) Snyder; aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Charles; grandparents: Art and Regina Nachreiner, Ruth and William Johansen; uncles: Dan Nachreiner, Ted Nachreiner and Bill Johansen; and stepbrother: Jeff (Vicki) Snyder.
