    He was born on Feb. 12, 1946, in Plain, Wis., the son of Edward S. and Lucille (Dischler) Gruber. Ed served in the U.S. Army and was married on Aug. 2, 1974, to the former Katherine Richardson. Ed was a member of the Arena VFW Post No. 9336.
    Survivors include his wife, Kathy Gruber of Arena; four children, Brian (Amy) Gruber of Tomah, Jessica (Adam) Powell of Reedsburg, Amy (Tim) DeMinter of Spring Green, and Mary Schauf of Spring Green; six grandchildren; two sisters, Anna (Emil) Bowmil of Milwaukee, and Liz (James) Westrich of Algoma; his father and mother-in-law, Jim and Joyce Richardson of Arena; three sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lucille Gruber; and a son, Greg Miller.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at 11 a.m. at ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Spring Green. Fr. Mike Resop will officiate with burial in the Arena Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Arena VFW Post No. 9336. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at ST. JOHN'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Spring Green from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. and again on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arena VFW Post No. 9336 or to Home Health United Hospice.
    The Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Eve's life was centered on her daughter and her three grandchildren, Nathan, Adam and Zachary Dodson. Eve has two sisters, Naomi Kelso of Dahinda and Delores Gough of Knoxville; four brothers, Gus (Sylvia ) Kasparie of Ft. Myers, Florida, the late Marion "Casper" (Sarah) Kasparie, the late Glenn Kasparie, and the late John Lewis Kasparie.
    Eve worked at OMC Gale Products for 28 years until its closure. She later worked for the Pump and Park it Market. In her early years, she was a member of the Motormaids of America and rode in parades including the big parade of Daytona, Florida. She enjoyed bow hunting and was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
    Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded. No services are planned. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Knoxville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory.
