The family moved to the Chaseley area in 1902, where she was raised and educated. She married Ervin Gutknecht on Oct. 5, 1921, at Chaseley. They farmed in the Hurdsfield area. Mr. Gutknecht died in 1964. She lived at Bismarck for several years before moving to Hurdsfield. She entered St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey, in 1982. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Eileen White, Tuttle, Erna and Emanuel Kline, Hurdsfield, and Carol and Dale Pfaff, Bismarck; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Willard and Betty, Lincoln, Neb., Arnold, Twin Falls, Idaho, and Richard and Evelyn, Fargo; one sister, Mabel Lange, Glendale, Ariz; one brother, Roy, Portland; 15 grandchildren; and 20 greatgrandchildren.
