Arlan is survived by his daughter Nikki Calderon, daughter Denise, son Quinton Putz, son Jarren Putz, grandchildren Logan Wedekind, Aleah Wedekind, and Anna Calderon. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Jeffrey, son of Duane and Patte (Grimm) Steiner was born Feb. 27, 1979. He was a graduate of Baraboo High School, Class of 1997. He attended MATC-Madison. Throughout his working career he was employed by McDonalds for several years and was most recently a taxi driver in Baraboo and Reedsburg. In his free time, he enjoyed playing video games, collecting sports cards, watch all Wisconsin sporting teams and play fantasy football. Jeff was a long-time member at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Baraboo.

Survivors include his loving parents, Duane and Patte; sister, Kelli (Brandon) Beard and nieces, Taylor, Tori and Kayly, all of Baraboo as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and June Grimm and Robert and Elaine Steiner and his brother, Dan Steiner.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baraboo with Pastor Karen Hofstad officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023 at church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held at church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

The son of Thomas John and Shari Lynne (Sprecher) Schell was born in Baraboo, on November 16, 1962. He graduated from Baraboo High School in 1981.

Shawn spent many years driving truck and working for Holmes Motorsports until he started his own business, Schell Unlimited LLC. He was a very hard worker and took great pride in his work. Many of his clients were not just clients, but family.

He was an avid bass fisherman. He was a member of Wisco Bass, The Madison Bass Club, and 608 Bass. He was a sponsor for the Badger Childhood Cancer Tournament. Any free time he had was spent on the lake. He also loved shooting trap and watching races on TV.

Shawn is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his children, Ashlee (Jim) Little, Ryan (Melissa), Thomas (Kelsey), and Mandi (Winston) Kluge; his mother, Shari; his grandchildren, Bryn Lee, Kashton, and JJ; bonus grandchildren, Emma, Elise, and James; siblings, Kevin (Debbie), Shannon, Stacey (Jason) Garbacz, and Kerry; half-sister, Yvonne Wright (Hoeft); brother-in-law, Brad (Kym) Hammermeister, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas; sister, Kelly; mother-in-law and father-in-law; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In memory of Shawn, please wear your best blue jeans to the service and leave your ties at home.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Redlin-Ertz Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. as well as on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Robert, son of Lyle and Selma (Mueller) Ahrensmeyer was born July 31, 1937. He was a graduate of Baraboo High School, Class of 1955. Robert served with the Wisconsin National Guards, 32nd Division. On Aug. 19, 1961 he was united in marriage to Carole Schneider. He was a longtime member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in North Freedom. Robert was a hard worker who farmed his entire life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carole; children, Linda (Larry) Wiese of Loganville, Larry (Laurie) Ahrensmeyer, James (Sarah) Ahrensmeyer; granddaughter, Allison Ahrensmeyer, all of Baraboo. He is further survived by is sister-in-law, Donna (Roger) Balfanz; brothers-in-law, Virgil Schneider, Harland Schneider, Michael (Lesley) Schneider; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Per his wishes, no services will be held.

Marlene enjoyed camping in Bagley at Jay’s Landing, vacationing in Danbury, WI, she enjoyed chasing the greyhounds, spending time with the local Red Hat ladies, schooling her grandkids in a game of euchre, spending time with her family and her puppies. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Louie was born on July 26, 1934 in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph and Bertha (Pickel) Berning. He was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School, Sinsinawa. Louie served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Rita Mae Hilby on September 3, 1960 at Nativity BVM Catholic Church at Menominee. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2023.

Louie owned and operated Berning Service Station at Prairie Corners and worked in maintenance at Sinsinawa Mound. He was a member of the Dickeyville-Kieler VFW Post #6455 and St. Joseph’s Church. Together, Louie and Rita enjoyed attending dances in their youth and traveling throughout Wisconsin. They took the trip of a lifetime to Alaska. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and attending events for all of his grandchildren. One of the greatest memories for Louie was taking part in a Military Honor Flight to Washington D.C.

Louie is survived by four daughters, Barb (Terry) Temperly, of Platteville, WI, Karen (Mick) Schultz, of Grand Mound, IA, Sharon (Dale) Kaiser, of Cuba City, WI, and JoAnn (Jay) Roussel, Durango, IA; daughter-in-law, Kathy Berning, of Hazel Green, WI; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marion Goerdt, Clinton, IA.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis M. Berning; his siblings, Harold (Mary) Berning and Harriet (Junior) Portzen; and a brother-in-law, Al Goerdt.

Gus was born on November 2, 1932 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the son of Clarence and Orpha (Gunderman) Runde. He served in the United States Air Force. Gus was united in marriage to Shirley D. Kempter on June 1, 1957 at St. Patrick’s Church in Dubuque, Iowa.

Gus was employed at John Deere Tractor Works. He was a valued and active member of the community. Gus was a member of the Jamestown Fire Department for 65 years, serving as secretary for 30 years. He served as the Jamestown Caucus Secretary for 48 years, Jamestown Election Chairman for 28 years and was a member of the Jamestown Park Commission for 10 years. Gus served for 34 years on the Kieler Sanitary Commission, including 12 years as president. He was a Kieler Boy Scouts Treasurer for 20 years and Grant County Special Deputy for six years. Gus was a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Parish, where he was an active member of the Parish Council, Holy Name Society, Finance Board, and Fourth of July Picnic Committee, serving as General Chairman for 22 years. He was also Chief Mulligan Cook for 54 years.

Gus is survived by his wife, Shirley Runde, Kieler; two daughters, Susan (Daniel) Puls, Orfordville, WI, and Amy (David) Runde Campbell, Prairie du Sac, WI; four sons, Michael Runde, Terrell, TX, William (Lori) Runde, Janesville, WI, Patrick (Jane) Runde, Libertyville, IL, and Thomas Runde, Evansville, WI; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Doris was born on December 12, 1942 in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the daughter of Peter and Celestine (Brink) Oyen. She graduated from Potosi High School. Doris was united in marriage to Peter J. Neis on August 17, 1963 at St. Andrew’s Church, Tennyson, Wisconsin.

Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her faith was very important to her. Doris was a member of the Holy Ghost Altar Society and CCW. She assisted with the religious education program helping children learn prayers. Doris enjoyed traveling including fishing trips, trips with her sisters and family trips to the Lake of the Ozarks, Branson and Green Bay. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. Above all, Doris cherished her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her husband, Pete Neis, Dickeyville; five children, William “Bill” Neis, Platteville, WI, Lisa (GJ) Franz, Madison, WI, Duane Neis, Lancaster, WI, Gina (Duane “Pete”) Brown, Bluff City, TN, and Lance (Kim) Neis, Cuba City, WI; siblings, Darlean Sabers, Cyril (Aleise) Oyen, LaVern (Marlene) Oyen, Margaret Eastlick, Betty Peacock, Ruth (Ron) Richardson and Dale (Nancy) Oyen; sisters-in-law, Gracie Oyen, Rita Oyen and Delores Oyen; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton, South Dakota. Visitation is from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota, with a rosary at 7:00 PM.

Daniel A. Wubben was born June 26, 1936, in Fordyce, Nebraska, to Raymond and Alma (Arens) Wubben. He grew up on the farm and attended school in Fordyce and graduated from Cedar Catholic High School in Hartington, Nebraska. He was an avid farmer, getting his start alongside his dad. He married Dianne Lute on April 19, 1966, in Fordyce and together had a life filled with adventures both on and off the farm. Dan and Dianne did everything together, whether it was farming, carpentry, crafting or riding their bicycles on any good trail they could find.

After retiring from farming they moved to Yankton, South Dakota and Dan took over the cooking and baking for the house. He was a hardworking, quiet man who had a great sense of humor and loved to joke with people. He was always busy doing something. He enjoyed puzzles, camping and woodworking in his shop.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dianne Wubben of Yankton, South Dakota; three children: Denise Brown of Yankton; Dennis (Jennifer) Wubben of Yankton and Karen (Jim) Goblirsch of Vermillion, South Dakota; six grandchildren: Nicole Brown, Morgan and Madison Wubben, Parker Kennedy and Jake Goblirsch; five brothers and sisters: Betty (Harold) Eickhoff, Geralda (Dean) McGregor, Jean Marie Lammers, Claudette (Doug) Sternhagen, all of Hartington NE and Chuck Wubben of Yankton, SD; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Cyril and Mark Wubben.

Donna grew up in Hartington where she attended and graduated from Hartington Cedar Catholic with the Class of 1961. She worked at Mutual of Omaha from August 1961 until March of 1963. Donna was united in marriage to John Kruse on April 20, 1964, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington. The couple lived in several places while John taught school, including New Market, Iowa from August of 1964 until May of 1967, Emerson, Iowa from June 1967 until May of 1970, Pocahontas, Iowa from August 1970 until May of 1981 and then moved to O’Neill, Nebraska from August 1981 until his retirement. John and Donna moved to Seward to be closer to family. While in O’Neill, Donna worked at The Townhouse Motel from 1981 until 1984. She then ran her own day care until 1998, later working in the lunchroom at St. Mary’s until retiring in 2008.

Donna loved quilting, sewing, working the garden, baking, painting and drawing, which she was exceptional at. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling and she also did Meals on Wheels for years. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill, she also served on the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, and served as the president of and ran the Boyd - Holt Right to Life program.

Those cherishing Donna’s memory include her husband: John, Seward: six children: David Kruse, Keene, NH, Jacqueline Copeland and husband Rick, Fairport, NY, Dale Kruse and wife Cheryl, Lincoln, NE, Dennis Kruse and wife Michelle, Lincoln, NE, Jason Kruse and wife Jorina, Sioux Falls, SD, Justin Kruse and wife Audrey, Lincoln, NE, 11 grandchildren: Chelsey, Taylor, April, Sean, Liam, Emalyn, Graydon, Owen, Jake, Alexa and Jordan, brothers and sisters: Kenneth Kathol and wife Linda, Charleen Hausman and husband Clair, Arlyce Thoene and husband Jerome, Carol Brown and husband Wayne, Joan Steffen, Janelle Winters and husband Curt, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
