His retirement years were spent in wood working, teaching religion classes at St. Patrick's Church, and fishing with his wife. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Forester. Survivors include, besides his wife; two sons, John B. Richard of Ames, Iowa and Ronald Richard of Casper; two daughters, Carol Hedges of Casper and Mary Schuessler of Glenrock; one brother, Delmar Richard of Woodland, California; one sister, Vera Richard of Dubuque, Iowa; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild born on Mr. Richard's birthday. He was preceded in death by an infant sister. A memorial has been established to St. Patrick's Catholic Church Building Fund. Mr. Wiederholt was born March 12, 1894, at Kieler, Wisconsin, a son of the late Joseph and Dora Weber Wiederholt. He came to Dubuque about 10 years ago, and was employed as a blacksmith at the John Deere Dubuque Tractor Company. He was a member of Metropolitan Lodge 49, A.F.&A.M; the DeMelay Consistory, Clinton, Iowa, and El Kahir Shrine, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He served overseas with the Army engineers during World War I.

He was survived by one daughter, Mrs. Al (Dorothy) Anderson, Calawba, Wis., two sisters, Mrs. Val (Elizabeth) Roth, Dubuque, Iowa and Mrs. Blandine Sutton, East Dubuque, Illinois and a brother, Nicholas Wiederholt, East Dubuque, Illinois.

Funeral services were held at the Behr Funeral Home and he was buried in East Dubuque Cemetery in East Dubuque, Illinois.
