Mrs. Berres, nee Elizabeth Ederer, was born Jan. 4, 1887, at Edson, Wis., daughter of the late Frank and Savina Raunecker Ederer. She was married Oct. 15, 1907, at Edson to John Berres after which the couple settled on a farm in the Town of Gibson. Her husband preceded her in death June 1, 1957. She was a member of St. Mary Rosary Society. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Clarence Schulz, Miss Leona Berres and Mrs. Donald Henrickson of Two Rivers, Mrs. Helen Lins of Columbus, Wis., and Mrs. Paul Greene of Green Bay; six sons, Leonard of Rt.1, Denmark, Orman of Batavia, Ill., Cornelius of St. Nazianz, John of Madison, Joseph of Manitowoc and Raymond Berres of Rt. 2, Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs Rose Thering of Spring Green, Wis., and Mrs. Anna Etten of Boyd, Wis; a brother, Jack Ederer of Plain, Wis., 43 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Death25 June 2007Violet Mary Connor died on 25 June 2007 at Wisconsin at age 90 Violet Collins, age 90, of Hudson and formerly of Eau Claire, died on Monday, June 25, 2007, at Christian Community Home in Hudson, in the presence of her loving family. She was born May 18, 1917, in Richland Center to Floyd "James" and Margaret (nee Hutter) Connor. At just 16 years of age, "Vi" enrolled in Sauk County Normal School; and one year later, in the spring of 1934, she graduated. The following year she enrolled in a two-year teacher's course at UW-Platteville. Her first teaching job was in a one-room school house in Wonewoc. Vi taught in southwestern Wisconsin, and later continued her career substitute teaching while raising her family in Eau Claire. On May 30, 1942, she married Joseph Collins in Reedsburg; and they celebrated 52 years of marriage. He died in 1995. Vi was an active member and past president of the Catholic Women's Club of St. Patrick Parish. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Anne (Timothy) Svoboda of Stockholm, Jane (Robert) Curtis of Eau Claire and Sheila (Christine Reisdorf) Collins of Minneapolis, Minn; three sons, James P. (Juanita) Collins of Richfield, Minn., Daniel (Paula) Collins of Eau Claire and Patrick (Lucy McNellis) of Hudson; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Collins; her parents, Floyd and Margaret (nee Hutter) Connor, two brothers, Leo and Floyd J. Connor; and an aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and Carl Connor. The Mass of resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th Street, Eau Claire. Friends may call from 9:30 until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church. Private interment will be held in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Christian Community Home, 1320 Wisconsin St., Hudson, WI, 54016; or to Bethany Convent, 1870 Randolph Ave., St. Paul, MN 55102. All Faiths Funeral & Cremation Service, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, Wis., is serving the family.
