He had not felt well in the evening and the doctor was called but did not consider his condition serious. A short time later he became worse and the doctor was again called. He came immediately but Mr. Jones has passed away before he arrived.
Mr. Jones was born in Edgeley, N. Dak. on July 25, 1907, and was at the time of his death 47 years, one month and four days. At the age of five he came with his parents to Ridgeway where he attended public school and later Platteville State Teachers college, graduating in 1932. After teaching one year in Mifflin State Grade school he accepted a position in the Platteville Junior high school and later the Senior high school. He had taught in Platteville schools for 21 years and was rehired for the present school term. He was assistant coach for all sports 18 years and head basketball coach for the past three years. Last year his team won the league championship and the tournament.

Lance was preceded in death by his parents; great granddaughter, Caroline Cuttine; and brother, Scott Zabel.
