Rev. Robert Kasperson officiated at the services and burial was in the Bloomington cemetery.
Mrs. Norbeck was born at Fort Thompson April 3, 1881. The family later moved to Charles Mix county and she spent most of her life in this community. She was married in 1901 to Enoch Norbeck who preceded her in death in January, 1946.
Mrs. Norbeck is survived by five daughters, Misses Edith and Myrtle and mrs. Samuel Sabin of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Suart E. White of St. Louis, Mo., and Miss Lorene of Tokyo, Japan; two sons, Glen and Neal, both of Platte, nine grandchildren, a sister, Miss Emma Severson of Sioux City, and three brothers, Andrew of Osakis, Minn., Joe of Oaks, N.D., and Sam of Platte.
Mrs. Norbeck was prominent in the activities of the Ladies Aid and LD.R. of the Lutheran church, of which she was a life-long member, and was noted for being a homemaker and good neighbor.

Ms. Norbeck was a native of Platte, S.D., and a graduate of the University of South Dakota. She moved to the Washington area in the late 1920s and began working for the government in the 1930s. She was a longtime Washington resident, and she returned to South Dakota in 1993.

She was a member of the Washington chapter of P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Survivors include two sisters, Gladys N. Sabin and Lorene Norbeck, both of Washington; and a brother, Neal Norbeck of Sioux Falls.

Mrs. Sabin was born in Platte, S.D., and graduated from the University of South Dakota. She came to Washington in 1929 to work for her uncle, Peter Norbeck (R), a former South Dakota governor and U.S. senator who was the main political patron and fundraiser for the creation of Mount Rushmore.

Family stories say Mrs. Sabin, who worked with her uncle on the memorial while it was under construction, swung over one of the presidents' noses in a chair sling.

She married in 1932 and resigned her Capitol Hill job to raise a family. She was a volunteer at Sidwell Friends School and a member of the sorority PEO.

Her husband of 60 years, Samuel H. Sabin, died in 1992.

Survivors include three children, Suzanne Sabin Melchior of San Francisco, James N. Sabin of Washington and Sandra Sabin Rhodes of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She worked in Minneapolis for the federal government and also worked in Panama during World War II. After the war she spent four years in Italy and Japan with the CIA. She worked as a volunteer as a receptionist for the Smithsonian Institute n Washington, D.C. She retired in 1971 and moved to Sioux Falls in 2000.

She is survived by her brother Neal (Ruth) Norbeck, Sioux Falls, and sister, Gladys Sabin, Washington, D.C. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Wevik, the former Olga Engelbrecht, was born May 26, 1901, in Sioux County, north of Remsen to Henry and Margaret Engelbrecht and was a lifelong area resident. She married Leonard B. Wevik Oct. 5, 1929, in Dakota City. Mr. Wevik was Remsen Police Chief for 27 years. He died in November 1963.
She was a seamstress. She lived with her daughter in Sergeant Bluff for 1 ½ years before entering Happy Siesta Nursing Home in Remsen two years ago. Mrs. Wevik was a member of the Ladies Aid of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Remsen. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence H. (Gloria) Parrish of Sergeant Bluff; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mrs. Hans (Caroline) Borm, and three brothers, George, Frank and Walter Engelbrecht. (Remsen Bell-Enterprise, September 3, 1987).

Lawrence was born on May 22, 1926 in Decatur, NE to George and Cora (Ray) Parrish. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1951. He was united in marriage to Gloria Faye Wevik on June 12, 1960, she preceded him in death in 1990. Lawrence was very active with the American Legion and Washington Heights Chapel. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

Those left to honor his memory include his son, Steven Parrish, Sergeant Bluff, IA; daughter, Brenda Blackman, Whiting, IA; grandsons: Tyler Blackman, Des Moines, IA and Travis Blackman, Sioux City, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and several brothers and sisters.

He married Emelia Sand in 1896 in Chicago and she died in 1932 He married Hilda Charlson at Le Mars, la., in 1944.

Survivors include the widow, three daughters, Mrs. Esther Schneiderheinze, Sioux City, Mrs. Hilda Johnson of South Sioux City and Mrs. Violet Johnston of Akron; a step-daughter Mrs. Helen Recek of Le Mars; four step-sons, Marvin Charlson of Sioux City, Raymond Charlson of Quantico, Va., and Elmer and Ernest Charlson, both of Le Mars; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Union Creek Lutheran church, Rev. David Roy officiating. Mrs. Ray Ericson and Dennis Hultgren were vocalists, and Mrs. Henry Fickbohm was organist. Pallbearers were David Swanson, Duane Johnston, Ronald Charlson, Eldon Johnson, Paul Charlson and Robert Ward. Honorary pallbearers were Albert Anderson, Henry Fickbohm, Alfred Sommervold, Alve Ericson, Art Klave and George Beeler. Interment was in Akron Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Kintz was a certified orthotist/prosthetist and practiced in both California and Washington state. He also taught orthotics and prosthetics at Foot Hill Junior College in California. He was instrumental in forming the Washington State Orthotic Prosthetic Association. He was active in the Kitsap Crohn's Association Support Group and the Luther Center for Learning. Mr. Kintz enjoyed blacksmithing and metal art. Other interests included operating big equipment, traveling, fishing, investing, and entrepreneurship. Survivors include his wife; his parents, Paul and Ruby Kintz of LaValle, Wis; a son, Scott, of Mountlake Terrace; a daughter, Karen Jorgenson of Boulder City, Nev; a brother, Ralph, of San Marcos, Calif; two sisters, Jan Wegenke of Horseshoe Bend, Alaska, and Nancy Claff of Glendale, Calif; and six grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Sunday at Spirit of Life Lutheran Church in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society. Memorial donations may be made to Luther Center for Learning, P.O. Box 1018, Olalla.
