He was a graduate of Wahlert High School. He lived life to the fullest. His greatest love was his daughter and son. He was the type of person who would do anything for anybody. He enjoyed working on all types of John Deere tractors, and with his friends, he rebuilt many of them over the years. He was on the Planning and Zoning Board in Long Grove. He was an avid outdoorsman, and he loved to hunt and fish.

Surviving are his daughter, Rachel, of Long Grove; his son, Ben, of Long Grove; his mother, Berniece Kieler Kaiser, of Kieler ; a brother, Dwaine C. (Mary Rose) Kieler , of Oregon, Wis; three sisters, Mary Jo Kieler , of Brookfield, Wis., Sharon Kaiser, of Dickeyville, Wis., and Lori (Dave) Freese, of East Dubuque, Ill; two step-sisters, Joan (Matt) Kieler , of Hazel Green, Wis., and Mary Jo (Dave) Brant, of Kieler ; nine nieces and nephews; and 10 step-nieces and step-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward C. Kieler .

Roselin was born on August 25, 1924, in Grant County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Ida (Montag) Jansen. She married LaVern J. Splinter on October 17, 1944, in Kieler. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2009.

Roselin was a hard working farm wife, mother and homemaker. She did all the cooking, baking and sewing for the family. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, reading and doing crossword puzzles.

She had a very religious orientation with a special devotion to Mary. Together Roselin and LaVern raised eight children. She lived for her family and sacrificed much for her family.

Roselin is survived by five daughters and three sons, Carol Weland, of Dubuque, Jane and Mary Splinter, of Platteville, Rita (Gary) Hingtgen, of Kieler, Donna (Tom) Covert, of Platteville, LaVern Splinter Jr., of Platteville, David (Diane) Splinter, of Dickeyville, and Ken (Cathy) Splinter, of Platteville. She is also survived by a brother, Paul F. (Alice Charpentier) Jansen, of Lewiston, Idaho; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marie (Walter) Hinderman and Leora (Ed) Helbing; a brother, Eldon (Marge) Jansen; her in-laws, Irenus and Caroline (Kruser) Splinter; a son-in-law, Robert Weland; a grandson, Jesse Splinter; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Though Harold worked up until the time of his death, he would often remark that he had been retired forever since he did what he wanted for a living.

He was born on July 2, 1941, son of Joseph and Elma (Dalsing) Helbing . He married Sandra Sabers on Nov. 25, 1961, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He graduated from the former St. Columbkille High School, Dubuque, class of 1959.

He was a member of Holy Ghost Parish.

Harold's true calling in life was being a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a selfless man who was always willing to lend a hand or give you the shirt off of his back, as long as it wasn't his lucky fishing shirt.

He was a plumber, electrician, auto mechanic, carpenter, biker, record collector, solitaire champion, pack-rat, model airplane enthusiast, Sam's Club member, lumberjack, home builder, confidant, family man and flower gardener, all wrapped up into a happy-go-lucky man of faith, who laughed from the belly and loved with all of his heart. Above all, Harold enjoyed spending time with the people he loved most - everyone.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Helbing , of Dubuque; sons and daughters, Gerald (Sheila) Helbing , David Helbing , Patrick Helbing , Michele Helbing , Marsha (Richard) Kamm, Tina (Casey) Slaght and Vicky (Rolando) Xicon, all of Dubuque, Karen Baumgartner, of Worthington, Minn., Paula (Mark) Leute, of East Dubuque, Ill., and Robert (Julie) Helbing , of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; 27 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mary (Gary) Nicks and Kenneth (Elaine) Helbing , both of Dubuque, Judy (Eldon) Wiederholt and John (Nancy) Helbing , both of Cuba City, Wis., and Doris (Mike) Lange, of Hazel Green, Wis; and a brother-in-law, Marvin (Phyllis) Ludwig, of Cuba City.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and the Christian Mothers Sodality. She also was a member of the Tavern League Association, where she had served as secretary for a number of years.

Adele was a loving wife and caring sister, who will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Burial will be in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery, Tennyson, where military rites will be accorded by members of the American Legion Post 473 and Berg Averkamp Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5276 of Potosi. Friends may call prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

He was born on Nov. 5, 1942, in Lancaster, son of Adam and Margaret (Splinter) Helbing .

He served three years in the Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 473 of Potosi. He loved gardening and was especially proud of his yellow roses. He enjoyed fishing and dearly loved his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Travis (Tracey) Helbing , of San Diego, Calif., and Cory (Stephanie) Helbing , of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Ella (Bob) Kittoe, of Cassville, and Marlene (LaVern) Oyen, of Potosi; two brothers, LeRoy (Juanita) Helbing , of Midway, Ga., and Richard Helbing ; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Born in Dubuque, Iowa, he was a resident of Liberty County for 40 years. He served 23 years in the United States Army, including two tours of duty in Vietnam, and earned the Bronze Star. After retiring from the military, he worked for Liberty County for 32 years until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Margaret Helbing; one son, Greg Helbing; and one brother, Eugene Helbing.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Juanita Helbing; two sons, Gerald and Michael Helbing of Texas; beloved stepchildren, Robert Lerma of New Mexico, Steven Lerma of California, Vita Sotelo of Texas, and Louis Maspero of California; two sisters, Ella Mae Holt and Marlene Oyen of Wisconsin; one brother, Richard Helbing of Iowa; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Butch was born in Cuba City, WI on August 7, 1940, to Henry and Hilda (Klaas) Helbing. He graduated with honors from Loras Academy, Dubuque, IA, in the Class of 1958. He enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve on February 11, 1959, and served two years active duty on the Destroyer Fleet based in Norfolk, VA. He was honorably discharged in January 1965 with the rank of EM3. On June 24, 1961, he married Mary Jo Timmerman at St. Rose Church in Cuba City, WI. They were blessed with three children. Butch was a lifelong plumber, and attained Master Status in both Wisconsin and Illinois. He was proud to be a union member of Local 214 in Janesville and Local 75 in Milwaukee reaching lifetime status in 2016. After retiring in 1999, he worked at Home Depot in Janesville for seven years.

The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Memorials may be made to the Theresa Schiffman Memorial Fund.

Theresa was born in Dubuque, IA to Alfred and Dorothy (Wallenhorst) Menne on January 31, 1938. She married Harold “Harry” Schiffman on May 15, 1957 in Potosi. Theresa and Harold farmed in Potosi for many years. She worked as a cook for the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity in Platteville and the Potosi School district. She was actively involved in the Sts. Andrew-Thomas Parish. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her flowers, reading, playing cards, and genuinely helping others.

Theresa is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harold “Harry” Schiffman; children, Nancy (Dale) Oyen, Diane (Alan) Bennett, Robert (Lisa) Schiffman, Roger (Sadiya Alilire) Schiffman, and Lori (Kevin) Pond; grandchildren, Joseph (Lacy) Oyen, Fatima Loeliger, Fatuma-Ayaan Rinderknecht, and Koshan Schiffman; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Amelia Oyen; sister, Ruth Houtakker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Brad Oyen; brothers-in-law, Donald (Ruth) Houtakker, Paul (Delores) Schiffman, David Pearce, Al (Mary Lou) Feltes, Dick (Adele) Helbing, and Bert (Dorothy Chapman) Schiffman; sisters-in-law, Joyce (David) Pearce, Mary Lou (Al) Feltes, Adele (Dick) Helbing, and Jane (Terry) Bode.
