Freeborn was the scene of a party Wednesday afternoon when the San Antonio A. & M. College Mothers' Club entertained with a "fish tea" in honor of the freshmen mothers. In the living room there were vases of roses. Receiving with Mrs. Freeborn were Mrs. A. D. Mayfield, club president, and Mesdames H. H. Seele, J. K. Patterson and J. W. Donnell. Bowls of chrysanthemums in maroon and white, the school colors, were used in the dining room. The table, which was laid with a lace cloth, had a centerpiece carrying out the same color scheme. Mrs. A. A. Brown poured coffee and Mrs. Fred Silvey cut the cake. Assisting in serving were Mesdames J. A. Clutter, L. S. Peter and McMurray Richey. Mrs. W. L. Payne, in costume, sang two of Stephen Collins Foster's songs, accompanied by Miss Jewell Carey. The hostess' daughter, Mrs. Helen Kerr, gave a group of piano numbers. In charge of the guest book were Mesdames W. K. White, C. R. Landon, A. Bronkhorst, and R. R. McAnelly, while sophomore mothers who "initiated" the freshmen were Mesdames H. A. Kiser, T. H. Freeman and W. W. Todd. One hundred guests called during the afternoon.

Bowls of chrysanthemums in maroon and white, the school colors, were used in the dining room. The table, which was laid with a lace cloth, had a centerpiece carrying out the same color scheme. Mrs. A. A. Brown poured coffee and Mrs. Fred Silvey cut the cake. Assisting in serving were Mesdames J. A. Clutter, L. S. Peter and McMurray Richey. Mrs. W. L. Payne, in costume, sang two of Stephen Collins Foster's songs, accompanied by Miss Jewell Carey. The hostess' daughter, Mrs. Helen Kerr, gave a group of piano numbers. In charge of the guest book were Mesdames W. K. White, C. R. Landon, A. Bronkhorst, and R. R. McAnelly, while sophomore mothers who "initiated" the freshmen were Mesdames H. A. Kiser, T. H. Freeman and W. W. Todd. One hundred guests called during the afternoon.
