She worked in the bindery department as a binder at Quebecor Printing Co. in Mount Morris, Ill. June retired in 2004 after working for Quebecor Printing for 25 years. June moved to Mount Morris in 1979, from Reedsburg.

June is survived by her husband, Ronald Haefner of Mount Morris; mother, Charlotte Barton of Baraboo; sons, Gerald (Alesha) Johnson of Walnut, Ill., and Scott Johnson of Mount Morris; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Jeanette Parks, Rita Loomis, and Brenda Legner, all of Baraboo; and a brother, Paul Harms of Baraboo.

June was preceded in death by her father.

Memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at Finch Funeral Home, 405 E. Hitt, Mount Morris; with the Rev. Doc Newcomb officiating.

Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Mount Morris. Visitation was held Monday.

Survivors include seven children, Dennis (Rhonda) Fry of Richland Center, Pam (Les) Antiporek of Mauston, Jerome (Jane) Fry of Wonewoc, Steve (Cheryl) Fry of Reedsburg, Rita (Steve) Winchell of Valley, Kristie (Mark) Wurster of Elroy, and Jenean Jackson of Mauston; a daughter in law, Collen Walker of Wonewoc; 19 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; a brother, Delbert (Inez) Westedt of Hillpoint; and two sisters, Jeanette (Mervin) Jaech of Reedsburg and Phyllis (Martin) Christian of Richland Center.

She was preceded in death by a son, Norris; 2 grandchildren, Michelle and John; 1 great grandchild, Nolan; 2 brothers, Norbert and Norman; and 1 sister, Elizabeth.

Memorial graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Elroy City Cemetery with Rev. Conrad Prell officiating.

Jeanie was baptized on August 1, 1937 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hillpoint, by Pastor Weining. She was confirmed on May 28, 1950 by Pastor Kramer. Her confirmation bible verse was "Whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him", Colossians 3:17. She married Mervin Jaech on August 4, 1956 at St. Paul's with Pastor Lamp officiating. Merv and Jeanie owned M & J Auto Parts in Reedsburg, Hillsboro and Richland Center. They also owned Downtown Fitness, The Ice Cream Parlor and The Antique Shop in Downtown Reedsburg. Earlier in life, Jeanie worked in the office at Wisconsin Dairies. She was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Jeanie also served on the Reedsburg Area Community Aid, Reedsburg Hospital Foundation Thrift Shop Board, United Fund Board, Reedsburg Jaycettes, Chamber of Commerce Board, the local BID Committee and she was proud to be on the original Board of Directors of the Butter Festival Committee. Survivors include her husband, Merv; three children: Patty Antonczyk, of Waukesha (friend, Bob) and her children, Matthew and Rachel; Bruce (Julia) Jaech, of Reedsburg and their daughters: Sarah and Larissa; and Cindy (Robert) Dries, of Brookfield and their daughter: Emma; her sister: Phyllis (Martin) Christian, of Richland Center; sisters-in-law: Inez Westedt, Hillpoint; Helen (Ralph) Slotty, Sauk City and Betty Webb, Waukesha; many nieces, nephews and friends. On August 4, 1956, he was married to the former Jeanette “Jeanie” Westedt. Merv worked at Kleeber Motors, Wisconsin Dairies and Aid Association for Lutherans. He and Jeanie later owned and operated M & J Auto Parts-Reedsburg, Hillsboro & Richland Center, Big Store Plaza - Antique Mall and Ice Cream Parlor as well as Downtown Fitness. Following his retirement, he worked for Walmart in Lake Delton. Merv was a founding member of the Reedsburg Jaycees, a member of the Reedsburg Fire Department and was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his three children: Patty Antonczyk (friend Bob), of Waukesha and her children: Matthew and Rachel; Bruce (Julie) Jaech, of Reedsburg and their daughters: Sarah (Matt) Lennon and Larissa (fiancé Aaron St. Louis) and Cindy (Robert) Dries, of Reedsburg, and their daughter Emma; his sister: Betty Webb, of Waukesha; three sisters-in-law: Phyllis Christian, of Richland Center, Inez Westedt, of Hillpoint, and Helen Slotty of Sauk City; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanie on May 25, 2015; three brothers: Norman, Fred and Gordon; sister: Caroline Lohr, and sister-in-law: Rose (Treptow) Jaech.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Paul Crolius officiating. Following the service, military honors will be provided by the Reedsburg Area Veterans Honor Guard at the church. Interment will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in LaValle. There will be a visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Hoof Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the church. She was born at home on the family farm in rural Loganville to John and Lena (Thies) Kruse. Caroline attended school at the Friendship Rural School in Loganville, Reedsburg High School and then attended Sauk County Normal School where she received her teaching certification. She went on to teach at Openview and Tuckertown schools and received her Bachelor of Science degree from UW - Platteville. Caroline went on to teach first grade at Waupun for six years and then she taught first grade in Kenosha for twenty-two years until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville and was very active in bible study and in serving others. Caroline was an avid gardener and loved her backyard birds and squirrels. She was also an accomplished pianist and gave lessons for many years. Caroline would spend her summers at the farm in Loganville and after her retirement she moved to Reedsburg. Caroline is survived by a nephew: Richard Kruse, of Loganville; two nieces: Gretchen Kruse (Richard Shuman), of Loganville and Peggy Kruse, of Alaska; five grandnieces: Heather, Suzanne and Becky Powell (Richard Powell), of Hillpoint; Jessica Kruse-Malle, of Australia and Elena Kruse-Velasco, of Alaska; two grandnephews: Spencer Shuman, of Loganville and Mark Murkve, of Reedsburg; one great-grandniece: Sophia Kingik, of Alaska; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Harold Kruse; an infant sister: Margaret; sister-in-law: Carla; nephew: John Kruse and niece: Heidi Kruse. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Loganville with Pastor Donald Glanzer officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Friday at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg. Together Art and Helen owned and operated The Gamble Store in Irene from 1946 until they retired from the retail business in 1969. Helen was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church, WELCA/Calvary Women. She was also a Charter Member and Queen Mother of the Irene Red Hat Valley dolls.
Helen has always lived life to the fullest and would never miss the action. She loved to camp, travel and just a few memorable trips to mention, a Mexican Cruise, a 50th Wedding anniversary cruise, a trip to Norway, Branson Mo, a surprise trip to the Hills with two of her granddaughter-in-laws. Most of all Helen really enjoyed her snowbird trips to Texas with her beloved Art. As many of you recall, Helen very much enjoyed her card games, especially her pinochle night with friends and family. Helen also had a love for bingo.
Helen entered Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in December of 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, son in law Lloyd Mork, her parents, one sister Maxine Giggee, one brother Richard and In Laws Mikkel and Annie Bak
Grateful for sharing her life include, sons David(Linda), Larry (Carol), Ronald (Sandra) Bak, daughter Vicki Mork, all of Irene, 8 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren, Sister Doris (Frank) Bryant, Sister-In-Laws June Munkvold, Martha Soeth, a host of Nieces, Nephews and Friends.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 AM, on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with Reverend Owen Korte officiating. Burial will be in the St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation is from 5-8:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with a vigil service at 7pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral at church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.

Pallbearers are Ted Kathol, Jonathan Kathol, Robert Hosch, Kris Kathol, Ryan Kathol, Garret Wilwerding, Sean Geary, Corey Halstead, Aaron Sudbeck and Brandon Kathol. Honorary pallbearers are all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and Christian Mothers.

LaVerne was born July 11, 1924 in St. Helena, Nebraska to Ignatius and Otillia (Holzbauer) Boehmer. She grew up on a farm and attended grade school at District 4 near St. Helena. Her freshman and sophomore years of high school were at St. Helena Public High and junior and senior years at Mount Marty High School in Yankton, SD, graduating in 1942. After high school, LaVerne worked at the Bank of Hartington. On June 12, 1945, she married James Kathol and to this marriage, 11 children were born. She moved to Virginia when Jim joined the US Army. There she worked several jobs including typing war bonds on the military base. LaVerne moved back to St. Helena with her parents when Jim was stationed in Manilla. He was discharged in 1947 and they moved to a farm one mile south of Hartington. They lived there until 1985 and then moved into Harington. Jim passed away in 1989 and LaVerne spent time between Arizona and Hartington. In 1999, she married Kenny Sassen. They made their home in Arizona until Kenny passed away in 2004, at which time, LaVerne moved to Pacific Springs Village in Omaha, NE. LaVerne enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, playing cards, socializing and doing many different volunteer jobs. She was a lifelong member of the VFW Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of America, Christian Mothers, Perpetual Adoration, Ministry of Praise and Holy Trinity Guild. While living in Omaha, she was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and recently rejoined Holy Trinity Catholic Church when she moved back to Hartington. LaVerne's main goal was taking care of her family and making sure her children were well cared for.

LaVerne is survived by 11 children: William Kathol (Linda Head) of Papillion, NE, JoAnn (Ed) Hosch of Hartington, Charles (Linda) Kathol of Hartington, Allen (Lynn) Kathol of Hartington, Laurie Wilwerding of Omaha, Darlene Kathol of Fremont, NE, Rhea (Bob) Geary of Sioux City, IA, Norma (Gary) Halstead of Alexandria, MN, Lisa (Danny) Sudbeck of Hartington, Tina (Mike) Coughlin of Lenexa, KS and Keith (Teresa) Kathol of Omaha; 34 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; numerous step-children and their families; and a brother-in-law, Don Arens of Yankton, SD.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, James Kathol and Kenny Sassen; siblings: Alfred Boehmer and spouse Lucille, Ralph Boehmer and spouse Leona, Bernadette Rupiper and spouse Clarence and Rosella Arens; son-in-law, Gary Wilwerding; and two infant grandsons, Danny and John Kathol.

Patricia was born August 26, 1948 in Yankton, South Dakota to Everett and Violet (Sparks) Wells. She grew in the Yankton area and was raised by Joe and Alice Kozak. She attended Yankton High School and then began working at a nursing home in Yankton. On July 12, 1967, Patricia married Alvin Sudbeck. After their marriage, they lived on a farm near Bow Valley, Nebraska and Patricia raised her family. They moved to Yankton in 1984 and Patricia worked for the Yankton Area Training Center until health issues forced her to retire. Patricia loved shopping, especially for purses, shoes and jewelry. She also enjoyed cooking, camping and visiting with her family and friends. Patricia was a kind hearted woman who never complained about anything. She was most proud her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Patricia especially loved her cat, Penny.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Alvin Sudbeck of Yankton; seven children: Susie (Ted) Hillman of Crofton, NE, Lori (Jay) Henseler of Yankton, Mike Sudbeck of Banger, ME, Vince (Nique) Sudbeck of Denton, TX, Amie Goetz of Wynot, NE, Kimberly Ummach of Sioux City, IA and Jody (Susan) Sudbeck of Kadoka, SD; 20 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; aunt, Agnes Sparks of Yankton; and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Tyler Ummach.

Daniel Scott Leise was born on January 5, 1962 in Yankton, SD to Harold Francis and Jolene Theresa Becker Leise. He grew up just north of Hartington and graduated from Hartington High School in 1980. He then went to Northeast Technical Community College in Norfolk for Utility Lineman. After he graduated he worked for Cedar-Knox Public Power for 35 years, serving as general manager since 2006. He was proud of and cared deeply for each employee and their families. He was a very respected leader of the Cedar-Knox organization.

Dan married his longtime sweetheart Debra Kay Potts, daughter of Anita Potts and the late Robert Potts, on October 13, 1984 at St. Philip & James Catholic Church in St. James. They have three children, Tyson, Shanna, and Kallie. Dan was a devoted husband and father, and continuously let them know how proud he was of them and how much he loved them. He worked especially hard to build a foundation and provide for his family. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed vacationing, camping, restoring his car and tractor, spending time at the farm, golfing, and cheering on the Huskers. Dan was also an avid builder, spending countless hours building his shop and remodeling his home. He was very creative and could fix almost anything.

Dan was known for his witty yet gentle and compassionate personality. He loved the community he grew up in, and the people in it. Dan was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He served on the parish council, CCHS School Board, Hartington Economic Development, Knights of Columbus, and Cedar Booster Club, along with several other church and civic organizations. Dan volunteered with the youth basketball and soccer programs over the years and was devoted to bettering the town of Hartington in any way possible.

Dan is survived by his wife, Debra of Hartington; three children, Tyson Leise of St. Paul, NE, Shanna Leise of Omaha, NE, Kallie Leise of Lincoln, NE; parents, Harold & Jolene Leise of Hartington; five siblings Deb & Rick Perk of Hartington, Sandy and Ken Bohlken of Norfolk, Sheila & Ron Jueden of Hartington, Jeff & Mary Leise of Hartington, Bill & Theresa Leise of Normal, IL; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Frank and Hulda Becker, Joseph and Agatha Leise; father-in-law Robert Potts.
