In 1904 they built a home on the east forty of the original hove tract, after purchasing an adjoining eighty acres. They provided a happy home throughout their lifetime. John, named for his father, had a happy disposition. He was known for his ability to tell a good story. He died May 13, 1965, and was buried in the Wadesburg Cemetery.7
