DateLocationDescription
Excerpt from Dec 2011 email from Dr Matscha the archivist from the archdiocese of Erfurt: The Maria Dorothea (sometimes also Anna Dorothea) Schmerbauch, who married Martin Kiehler 1806, daughter of Philip and Anna Margaretha born Schmerbauch Schilling, was baptized on 04/27/1786. It was in 1801 but obviously the godmother (because again denoted as Anna Dorothea and daughter of Philip), the sister of Joseph Schmerbauch. And she was half sister of George Schmerbauch, the father of Joseph and Maria Dorothea Schmerbauch junior. For after Philip's first wife Anna Barbara née Richard, mother of George, died on 02.21.1782, Philip married again apparently, before 1784 (when the oldest child from this marriage was born), Anna Margaretha Schilling. Judging by the name Schilling, they could have originated for example from Effelder or Bickenriede. There will then probably have taken place the marriage, which we have not reviewed. When Philip died on 06.11.1792, married the widow Anna Margaretha born Schmerbauch Schilling on 04.09.1793 the widower Gottfried Schmerbauch.
28 July 1801St Jacobus der Altere (St James the Greater) Catholic Church, Struth, Thuringia, GermanyMaria Dorothea Schmerbauch witnessed the baptism of Maria Dorothea Schmerbauch on 28 July 1801 at St Jacobus der Altere (St James the Greater) Catholic Church, Struth, Thuringia, Germany.

Life EventDateDescription
Birth12 November 1870Charles Joseph Jacoby was born on 12 November 1870 at Dickeyville, Grant, Wisconsin, also reported as Nov 1871.
He was the son of Francis George Jacoby Sr. and Catherine C. Richard.
Marriage17 August 1892Charles Joseph Jacoby married Katherine Theresa Yunker, daughter of Fidelas Yunker and Mary Eva Matz, on 17 August 1892 at Helena, Montana.
Death28 October 1952Charles Joseph Jacoby died on 28 October 1952 at Montana at age 81 Charles J. Jacoby, 81, prominent Helena contract who built many of this city's finest buildings, died late last night in St. John's hospital following an illness of 15 months. Beginning as his father's helper in the carpentry trade during the pioneer days, Mr. Jacoby developed one of the leading contracting firms in Montana. He also helped organize the American Building and Loan association and was a leader in many community projects during his lifetime in Helena. He supervised the construction of such Helena landmarks as Carroll college, the Western Life building, Helena YMCA, Shodair hospital, the Gold block, LaLonde building, the new St. John's hospital and many others. Mr. Jacoby was born Nov. 12, 1870 in Dickiville, Wis. In 1878, he came to Helena with his mother and other members of the family to join his father who had established their home here. They rode a steamboat up the Missouri river to Fort Benton and then traveled overland to Helena. As a youth, Mr. Jacoby witnessed the first train to arrive in Helena and he was present when the golden spike was driven at Gold Creek, linking the Northern Pacific railway with the west coast. After attending grade school for a short time, Mr. Jacoby began working with his father in the carpentry and they later formed the firm of Frank Jacoby and Son. In 1915, Mr. Jacoby and his brother, Frank, formed a new partnership under the same name and opened offices in Helena and Billings. They developed it into one of the state's best known construction firms. One of the company's biggest projects was the construction of Carroll college in 1920. The Gold block and LaLonde building were built after the disastrous fire in 1928. Mr. Jacoby was an original incorporator of the American Building and Loan association. He served as president of the association for many years and was on its board of directors continuously until he retired from it in 1945. He also was president of the Associated Industries of Helena and an active member of the Helena Chamber of Commerce. He was a ready contributor to numerous community projects and was instrumental in raising funds for many of them. Mr. Jacoby retired from business in 1930 and the Helena branch of his firm was taken over by his son, George Jacoby. The Billings branch closed in 1945 when Frank Jacoby retired. He married Catherine Yunker Aug. 17, 1892, in the old Sacred Heart cathedral. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1942. The family home has been at 501 Eighth since 1915. Mrs. Jacoby died in 1928. Mr. Jacoby was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus and he belonged to St. Helena parish. Survivors in addition to his son George, now owner of the Helena Sand and Gravel company, include another son, Earl, owner of Jacoby's Clothing store; a grandson, Charles Glen Jacoby; and granddaughter, Mrs. E. A. Fehlig of Helena; his brother, Frank, of Billings; five sisters, Mrs. Thresa Scheewe, Mrs. Dora Heller and Mrs. Molly LaFleur, all of Helena, and Mrs. Carrie Brewster and Mrs. Kate Lubey, both of Los Angeles; and four great-grandchildren. The body is at the Retz funeral home. Funeral services are tentatively set for Friday.

Birth31 August 1920Teresene Cleora Cather was born on 31 August 1920 at Marshalltown, Marshall, Iowa.
She was the daughter of Clarence Edward Cather and Clara B. Richard.
Marriage31 January 1941Teresene Cleora Cather married George Edward Hamblin on 31 January 1941 at La Jolla, California.
Death5 November 2021Teresene Cleora Cather died on 5 November 2021 at age 101 Teresene "Terri" Clarice Hamblin was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on November 5, 2021.
Terri was born August 31, 1920 in Marshalltown, Iowa, where she grew up with her mother, Clara Cather, and grandparents, in Marshalltown, Iowa. Terri met her husband, George, while attending secretarial school in Marshalltown, Iowa. George and Terri were married in 1941. George joined the army during WWII, at which time George, Terri and their three children, Bob, Sandy and George, moved to where George was stationed at La Joya in San Diego in 1943.
Upon recommendation of their family doctor, they moved to Hugo, Colorado in 1948, to support their daughter, Sandy's asthma. George found employment at Y-W Electric Association. Shortly thereafter in 1949, George, Terri and their three children moved to Akron, where their fourth child Lisa was born. Terri lived in their original home in Akron for 70 years until a few months before her passing.
Her years in Akron were filled with family and building her home on Cedar Avenue. In the early days in Akron, the KKK was very active and George and Terri were adamant deniers. Because of this work and the connections they built, George was then appointed by President Eisenhower as Postmaster General. During her children's growth years, Terri was active in the PTA, St. Joseph's Church Altern and Rosary Society, as well as the Cub Scouts of America when the kids were little. After her children were grown, she worked as an Abstractor with a specialty in the oil and gas industry.
In her later years, Terri continued to be involved with her friends and family and made a point to live a consistent and pragmatic life. She was known to her friends and family as someone from whom they could always count on for a humorously sensible opinion of matters. After her oncologist gave her a positive cancer diagnosis, she reassured him, "Yes, doc, you are still in the will." He replied with, "I hope so, because I have to figure out how you have lived so long."
To the union with George, four children were born. Her death was preceded by son, Robert "Bob" Hamblin; and daughter, Sandra "Sandy" Hertzwig (Roald Hertzwig, deceased).
She is survived by her son, George Hamblin Jr. (Rosemary "Ro" Hamblin, deceased); her daughter, Lisa Hamblin; her grandchildren, Caarin Kogut, Jared Barnhart, Miranda Domenico, Serena Vandenberg, Ryan Vandenberg, Ben Hamblin, Chris Hamblin, Ingrid Hamblin, Bridget Hamblin Hatchell Gonzales, Ian Hamblin, Peter Hamblin Hatchell, Drew Hamblin Hatchell; and 17 great-grandchildren.
There will be a Rosary Service, in her honor, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Akron, Colorado on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. A funeral mass and service is scheduled for Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a burial service at St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery. The public is invited to pay their respects at all services.
